We've already decorated our tree. We've started the sale. But seems like we're forgetting something.

Oh! That's right! It's not the holidays without a chance to visit GOG.com, looking for new and interesting ways that Coala has photo-chopped wintery iconography into them. It's a tradition that we're continuing for our fourth year!

The contest is simple: go through our catalog; we've edited 12 images, scattered across our wide selection of games, to include obvious holiday references, such as santa hats, Christmas trees, or reindeer. For an example, take a look at one of our screenshots from last year:

When you’ve got them all, list them all in an email to "contest@gog.com" with the subject line being "GOG.com 2012 Scavenger Screenshot Hunt". From every valid application we will pick 10 winners who got all the games right and gift them two games from the entire catalog. The contest ends on Tuesday December 25th 2012 11:59 GMT.

Or, I suppose, on the 21st of December when the world erupts in fire and doom. But if we're still around after that, then we'll end the contest officially on the 24th. ;)

Buckdawg: Got the dreaded 11/12 and can't go on, been through every game twice now and just losing the will to live. Truly ashamed of myself for even attempting this... it's 2 hours I will never get back, and will get absolutely nothing for... :(

JMich: Send me a PM with what you have, I'll send you a hint for the 12th.
My hint offer is still valid, too : )
I have spent 3 hours finding those games and I got only 11 of them. :((

Hints! Get your scavenger hints here!
Interesting fact, the 3 people who contacted me for hints all were having problems with the image that made me literally lol when I saw it. Congratulations to Coala for her photochopping skills ;)
I had two contacts on two different games - I guess one of them is the one you mention : ) It blends pretty well with the game's graphics but content-wise the picture is purely hilarious

EDIT.
Two more people hinted, one of them about THAT screenshot : ) BTW, one person has sent me unalerted version - GOG was pretty creative with this one : ).

Two things that annoy me in this forum:

1. No one cares if you found them all. That kind of useless declaration has never been and never will be worthy of a dedicated post.

2. I understand giving a hint to the ostensibly despondent individuals who've already torn out all their hair and are about to throw themselves out a window after wasting so much of their time - only to be missing ONE elusive game! I've given a hint to two such individuals. But if they've only done a couple quick run-throughs of the catalog, let them work for it like the rest of us did.

So what if some of us found them all during our first try in under an hour? The amount of time and energy we took as compared to others is irrelevant. What matters is that we did it honestly - we earned our entry. So cool it with the unrestrained hint-giving. I submit that hints should be scarce, and reserved only for the truly desperate 11/12ers on their last legs. Everyone can certainly do what they like, but every time we give a hint we hurt everyone's chances at winning a contest that we all spent our time and energy to enter.
Got the last one thanks to Jmich and Novo, and it was one I'd admittingly already considered, but honestly thought it was in-game graphics! Still doesn't guarantee I win anything, but oh well, my sanity remains intact... for another day at least... :P
