Kennethor: Why are people so extremly rude?
Maighstir: I don't see anything extreme in this thread. A response isn't rude just because it doesn't start with "sorry, but ".
I see two* response which refers to the OP not doing research (which is, indeed, rude regardless of whether it's true or not), the rest are either simply factual, trying to be helpful, or looks like they're trying to be amusing.
*And one of those was a reply to a flat-out dismissal of a fairly well-written response.
I wasn't only reffering to this thread but several others were "the old users" have talked down and been jerks to new users with in this case threads which in their opinions asks dumb questions or are poorly asked.
In this thread it isn't so much but the tone is often harsh and meant to make the OP feel unwelcome or stupid, sometimes because of poor english or lack of knowledge.
Some people may not agree with me but I think this forum is here for people to have fun, ask questions and discuss interesting things. Not to create hierarchies and make people mad.
