The big day is approaching and everyone is counting hours, minutes and seconds when the GOG staff members will appear in the spotlight! Believe us, we're all excited about this as well, but first things first. Let us give you some details, so everyone knows who, what, where and when.

Who? All of you, our dear users, are invited to watch the live streaming of the CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference.
What? The live streaming will include presentations by CD Projekt RED with their awesome game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and GOG.com revealing some cool stuff. Both presentations will be in English.
Where? You'll be able to watch both presentations on GOG.com. On Thursday we'll put up a news post with a live stream video window embedded in it for your convenience.
When? The live streaming of CD Projekt RED presentation will start on Thursday, April 14 at 12:00 p.m. EST (that's 4:00 p.m. GMT - that's 9:00 a.m. Los Angeles time, 12:00 p.m. New York, 5:00 p.m. London time or 6:00 p.m. Warsaw time). GOG will hit the stage an hour later at 1:00 p.m. EST (5:00 p.m. GMT).

You may also notice some teaser spots on the front page. These will change during the next three days, so feel free to speculate what's it all about :). See you on Thursday!
What game made me dream of space? Independence War 2, and that's already a GOG.

I'm thinking Wing Commander series or X-Wing / TIE Fighter series - not with regard to who owns the IPs, but from a standpoint of being the grand-daddies of modern space sims.

Between the two, if the guess is even remotely close, I'd like it to be the Star Wars titles since I never played those. That's a blasphemous admission from one who got into gaming in the MS-DOS days.
*off*

GOG front page was edited on the 12 of April .
Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin : 9 March 1934 – 27 March 1968) was a Soviet pilot and cosmonaut. He was the first human being to journey into outer space, when his Vostok spacecraft completed an orbit of the Earth on April 12, 1961.

Pheace: I know this isn't a 'what is this game?' thread but I remember a game where you built your own moon base. A little sim city like but you got attacked as well I think. But can't remember the name of it.

That would be great to see as well. If only I could remember the name xD
Was top-down I believe, think you had little tanks and stuff, and .. missiles? gah don't remember :(
M.U.L.E.?

One thing is for certain... we need a huge gaming news site to offer GOG front page so that we may get the big reveal early.

Well, it worked in the past. :)

Also... I doubt it's EA or LucasArts. There's no counter on the frontpage. GOG ALWAYS does counters with big publishers.

You know, Destro and I went round and round on whether we should do a counter for this announcement. We ended up deciding not to (obviously :P).
The Dig made me think of the stars, GOG. The Dig. :)
Haha, my friend asked, if i was available on evening of the 14th, probably had beer or board games on mind. And i said "i can't, i have my cdp days". Should've seen the look on his face.

Maxxer: I have a feeling its THQ
I second this guess.

Getting EA/LA is basically the final frontier for GOG; it would be their biggest achievement for years to come, the rock that actually starts the avalanche. No only would we get pretty much every title from the wishlist, it would be highly unlikely for any company to continue having second thoughts about joining...
So let's NOT get ahead of ourselves and expect such things - getting EA on board is not something you take a measly 30 minutes to brag about -_-".

The more likely scenario, BTW, is vice-versa: convincing EA to join because EVERYONE ELSE already has.

Vestin: I have a feeling its THQ
Most people will be delighted with THQ. Plenty of their old games already sell for GOG prices anyway like Dawn of War and people have been dying for a re-release of Homeworld 1 & 2.
I think the key word here is "dream" and not stars. Granted, it's most likely space related, but why would we dream about it? (unless the clue is phrased so the stars are dreaming about you). Also, shouldn't it be "dream about the stars"?

The way the phrase is worded must be hiding something. Martian Dreams, like two previous posters have suggested has a high chance of being it. The game is from Origin Systems (Ultima, Wing Commander, Crusader series, System Shock, Wings of Glory) and it now belongs to ... EA. It figures GOG would be working hard to bring the Holy Grail of the wanted list.

Now excuse me while I go wash my pants.
It's unlikely but i sooo wish it were SSI (but they don't exist now right?)

System shock 1/2 and anything wing commander and privateer related would be instant buys for me.
