It’s a holiday tradition! We’ve decorated a Christmas Tree in the GOG.com office. Random people are running around in holiday hats and singing along the winners of the Holiday Songs Contest.

We think that our website deserves some holiday touch of its own and we will deliver that! During our 50% off Xmas Sale we already had four big publishers join forces with us. EA helped us with the the EA Crossword Puzzle, Interplay in the Interplay Caption Contest, thanks to Activision for the Activision Holiday Song Contest and last but not least Ubisoft motivated you guys to write some Ubisoft themed New Year’s Eve Resolutions.

So it’s finally time for the Third Annual GOG.com Screenshot Scavenger Hunt to start! Here are the rules: From now until Friday the 30th of December 2011 we’re going to have some Holiday themed screenshots up on our website for you to find. ;) They will be hidden in our game cards, surrounded by all of the regular screenshots. The trick is (as you can see below) that some of them will be “spiced up” with some holiday themed devices:

When you find a holiday themed screenshot (there are 20 of them in total), be sure to write down the name of the game. When you’ve got them all, list them all in an email to "contest@gog.com" with the subject line being "GOG.com 2011 Scavenger Screenshot Hunt". From every valid application we will pick 10 winners who got all the games right and gift them two games from the entire catalogue (excluding The Witcher 2). The contest ends on Friday December 30th 2011 11:59 GMT

20 found and e-mail sent!

Took around 10 hours; a couple were fiendishly hard. Was definitely easier than last year's contest since you had to go through ~all the games on four different days back then.

Lots of fun, good luck to everyone who's still looking :)
I too finally found the two I was missing - I thought I had 19, but one was wrong.

I get the feeling the one I was wrong about will trip others up, because it has an obvious Holidays element... but is not one of the 20.
Wow, it's seems that the first batch of posters in this thread got it pretty easy.
Dang it!! I'm too competitive to just give up. I found my missing 20th. It was an early one and the coloring through me off...

Ahah! Mine was a late one but the coloring also through me off. I think it's worst to have only one left than a couple or three left, it's just too close...

It wasn't easy. Around the letter R i got cross-eyed and missed an obvious screenshot. Which prolonged the search by another 2h. But count me out next year, when the catalogue will be by at least 50 games larger.
18, after looking at every screenshot in the catalogue. This is tougher than it looks.
I've narrowed my list down to 19. I eliminated 2 games after looking up info/screenshots/video to see if the Christmas stuff was just part of the game. It might be time to give up.

realBaal: I found 19, plus one with a snowman. I hope the snowman picture is one of the modified pictures. Because I'll not check all screenshots again >.<

This contest isn't funny, it's hard work!

joshdad: If the snowman is the one I think you are talking about, then no, it is not one of the modified pictures. It is actually part of the game (it was there during the last screenshot constest, and it was one of the one's I picked, only to find out later (while playing the game) that it's a part of the game.).
Ye, i googled the name of this game + "snowman" and found other pictures like that from another perspective.

Fortunately, I found the last one without a lot of seeking :) Santa was pretty good hidden - But not good enough!

I dislike this contest but I think I'd do it again next year :p
I'm getting just a bit over mad trying to find the 20th modified screenshot.

This is a tradition of sorts, OK, but you'll have to admit that each year is getting more and more tiring the bore of browsing through screenshots. Thanks goodness, you can browse them with the arrow keys a la imgur.

WHAT?! How do you do that? I went through the entire catalogue by clicking each game, then clicking one of the images and then rotating through all 12 (or sometimes 6 or 18) by clicking them. Sometimes I even missed that I had gone through all the images of a particular game, because there is no way to tell that the loop has ended and the pictures for that game are done.

At least I got a close look at all the games in the catalogue...some of them have piqued my interest now :D.
never liked these scavenger hunts, but thought I should give it a try. - it was a really bad decision.

looked through the whole catalogue, looked at every picture, found 19 which is definitely not in-game. it took about 2 hours.
2 hours I'm never getting back. i do not have the time to look at all the pictures again.

you really should make the modified graphics stand out more from the original setting, because this way you'll just make people really frustrated. it's about 3-4 thousand pictures...

after the competition ends today at noon I will post the 19 I found, and is eager to learn which is the one picture I missed and made this just a waste of time for me.

I'VE DID IT! I thought that I would give up when I went through catalogue first time and I had just 14 screenshots:) I didn't give up and I send the list of screenshots now to your email. But as I mentioned yesterday, I really suggest you to make it different:
1. Make a change of a screenshot more visible (as you can see in attachment)
2. Do it same as this time (so sometimes not so visible), but limit this for example for Adventures or action games...
3. Or something different > Write name of 3 smallest and 3 biggest games from catalogue

I wish you Happy New Year!

That was fun. Took me about 1 and a quarter times through the list. Still not sure about about a couple of them... Might just be in game stuff, but I went for it.

I actually had alot of fun. I ended up finding quite a few games that look cool that I didn't know about. Added about 20 games to my wishlist.
#20!! Finally, after checking GOGs catalogue twice. The tricky thing is,there are screenshots, that seem to be a part of this contest, but some have not been edited at all.
