amok: Is it just me, or do you get 2 copies of Aerena?

I redeemed it on Steam, and there is now 1 copy in my library, but also there seems to be one in my inventory (Aerena Steam Gift - tradable, not marketable)
That's normal (at least for as long as you buy the game when it's still in Alpha state). They give you an extra copy so you can "play it with a friend". Expanding the player base is important for Indie multiplayer games.

I'm not sure if you're getting the other benefits of the "Founder's package" as well, but it's possible. Groupees gives you the PDF novel which is actually part of the Deluxe Edition (i.e., people who buy the regular edition for full price won't get it).

You can compare the two editions and their bonus materials here (at the end of the game description):

anyone else tired of indie bundles throwing multiplayer games like this into bundles?
Yes and I even doubt I'll play that game so if anyone wants a gift of Aerena, drop me a PM.

Yep, im tired of that too. They should make seperate bundles for all those multiplayer games.

I don't mind. Bundles provide a good opportunity to expand the player base, and I understand why the devs are doing this. And if the devs of a multiplayer game offer to add their game to a bundle, why should the bundle managers say no? It's not like the majority of bundle contents had suddenly turned into multiplayer only games. Usually there's just one, perhaps two, in a given bundle. Even though I'm not extremely interested in multiplayer games, I don't expect _all_ of the games in a bundle to cater to my personal preferences either. For the cheap price that undles tend to have, it's perfectly okay when they contain a few games that I'm not interested in.

What annoys me more is that there are now two multiplayer games in a row (Aerena and Interstellar Marines) which I bought on "release" (if you can call an early access version that), and which are thrown away in bundles mere weeks after. I'm not mad at the devs and I again understand why they are doing that, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Niggles: your not another one who is going to rag on about groupees server issues are u?.wish people would get over it.
Would be easier to get over it if they had managed to fix it by now, half a year later ... :P They're running a business after all.

Now that would be interesting. The most saddest bundle ever :D
I read Grimm is terrible, but I'm interested on it. Is this true?

Maybe I'll wait until all boni are revealed, because 1953 seems interesting too.

Supposed the question is, why haven't they?.

I suppose the question is, do the dev's approach Groupees or the other way around?.A multiplayer dumped into a indie bundle takes the place of a game more people are likely to play (or at least find more value in etc). But yeah its cheap...

Stooner: 3 boni in a day is a good start, right?

Momo1991: Well it's a very good bundle - especially for those of us that love a good adventure game ;-) Plus it's got a pretty excellent range of games for everyone and zero repeats of bundled games.

Personally I am thrilled with 1953, Grimm, Infected and even Redshirt looked sort of fascinating...
There is actually one repeat (2 if you count bonus games). IL-2 has been in a bundle stars bundle, and I don't quite remember where I got KGB from, other than it being a bundle.

That being said, I won't argue with you in regards to this being a good bundle.

Anyone tried Grimm and KGB?

Yeah, Grimm is pretty eh. The gameplay itself is very Katamari-esque, with you controlling Grimm and slowly corrupting idyllic scenes from classic fairy tales, but there isn't much depth or strategy to it. On top of that, the developers lost the original source code to the game, which has its fair share of bugs and is totally unoptimized. Be prepared for a big download, too. Each episode is actually its own standalone executable with all the extra stuff from the Unreal Engine in each episode folder, with around 200-500 megabytes per episode.

:l

So they just throw it on Steam, milking money from it? And what means they lost the Source code? Even with exec, they can't just make a proper release for this, avoiding the download of the same files for each episode?

That's the "required space" for installation as given by Steam. The actual download is smaller (7 or 8 GB if I remember correctly). As Gyrocoptor said, you're effectively downloading the same Unreal engine 23 times since each of 23 episodes has its separate executable.
