Most PC games aren't that hot, either, unless you're a sucker for match-3 clones. Most Android games on bundles are games with PC versions, and are decent.

I may be biased (I like Android) but I don't feel that Groupees really screwed people over. They offered an additional bonus which only appeals to a minority. They could have chosen not to offer it, and the bundle would still have been great value. The bundle didn't suddenly become lesser by adding this Android game to it.

You apparently didn't read the whole story - we had a chance to have a PC Deluxe version of Cafe 0, but Groupees somehow screwed up this.

i think the desura page speaks by itself about the difference beetween the 2 versions :) (the android one is the deluxe)

"Okay. groupess just replied me.
We're agreed to not give the deluxe version. The original price is 15 usd for the voiced version and 10 usd for the voiced version. And the android is 10 usd as well.
I already give the android and unvoiced, which means 20 usd of my products, and I can't give more than that. It's already pretty cheap to get it as one of the 2 games you can get in 1 bundle. If you want to upgrade it to the voiced version, you can pay the upgrading fee 5 usd as your support to this product. I must say that cafe 0 participation on this promotion might be pretty rush and some people might be not satisfied, but this is the best I could do. (They contacted me 2 hours before I slept, at 2 AM and I really didn't have time to think for anything.)"

So he's offering me the option to pay $5 to upgrade my "unvoiced" version to deluxe.. I guess that's not a bad offer, but I'm too cheap for that. I'll probably wait until it's on IGS or something.

That may be the case, but it still didn't screw buyers in any way. I'm inclined to agree with the people who talk about the devaluation of PC games. When people pay $1.50 for five games and then complain that they got screwed up because they didn't get the best version of a game it means that people feel that these games have very little value.

Some better news: I asked the dev of Yousei if Desura keys for the prequels would be added to our Groupees pages when they arrive there, and the response was positive but not definite, so those of us that like our games via clients might be in luck

They didn't screw people over by not giving the best version.. they screwed over people that bought Cafe 0 from the bundle by adding it as a free bonus for android. You can emulate the superior android version on PC or play it on an android device.. I don't think there's any reason to play the unvoiced PC version provided in the bundle aside from convenience. So yeah, I would call that getting screwed over.. paying for a lesser version of a game when the free bonus is better. They would've been better off adding the deluxe PC version and ditching the android bonus.

That's what I originally talked about. "They screwed over people who bought the game by giving away more stuff." That's a shitty attitude. People got exactly what was advertised, plus more bonuses, and then they complain because their precious $0.75 didn't get them the best version available, which wasn't promised in the first place.

i agree , since the start the non android version is the voiceless one.

however and imho , they shouldn't have added the android version (voiced) as bonus. -> because it can be emulated

a better approach , would had been to add a tier for the deluxe version , but since the dev was contacted 24h before the bundle .....

personnaly i don't comply at all , the mess is groupees fault, not the dev, which can't give at so low price "all" it's work. (ok : you can give more than the average...)

So if you paid for a game and they gave a better version FREE as a bonus to everyone that bought the bundle (you didn't need to buy Cafe 0 to get it..), you wouldn't be annoyed? Ok.. I think you'd be in the minority though.

It's more like we wasted $0.75 when we could have spent it on something else. I realize 75 cents isn't much, but I feel like it's a waste, regardless.

I only think that this is a very good bundle.

oh i can sum up :)

in the bundle : cafe-0 is voiceless (it exists a voiced version)
as bonus they added the cafe-0 for android : which is voiced.

and since you can use some tools to run android on windows , u can emulate the android version

which is screwing the non-android version presents in the bundle.

Of course it's a great bundle, buf if Groupees didn't make a small mistake, it would be even better. ;)
