Being in a remote location with 64K broadband, downloading big games is almost impossible. I've been looking to buy the Alan Wake games but at 7.9Gb it takes more than a day to download them. Is there a source of GOG games on CD/DVD that can supply to the UK?
Nope. The best you can do is maybe download the installer from somewhere that has more reasonable download speeds and then transfer it to a disk or flash drive. GOG itself is digital only, though.

Afraid not buddy

Also: This thread reminded me of that old thread where a GOG member from Turkey found a GOG installer on a Sensible Soccer 2006 retail game
Do you have a friend somewhere with better internet speed? He can use your account to download the game and then put it on a USB storage unit and mail it to you. But apart from thinking outside the box, no, there is no service in place to provide you with physical copies of gog games.... that I know of.
If you manage to get access to somewhere with better broadband speed and want to download anything onto a USB stick for example, keep in mind that the largest file size you can put on an FAT32 filesystem is 2GB. For any games larger than that you would need to format the USB stick as either EXFAT (requires an opt-in update from Microsoft for Windows XP, but I think is built into Vista+7 ready to go), or NTFS. Just a tip to save possible frustration should you go down this avenue. :)
I tend to travel a lot and I'm always looking for excuses to travel more. Let me know where you are, and maybe I can pass by and pass you an installer. Can't promise exactly when that would be, though.

OK, that's thinking reeeealy outside the box.

Now I'm picturing some remote location with deadly creatures roaming the countryside and the mailman comes around once in a blood moon when the tides are the least deadly.

Indeed. And isn't it fun?

Yeah, but he's from the UK, not the Australian suburbs.

Indeed a little disappointing, but a man can dream.

I'd be happy to put the games on a disc and send them to you (or bring them to you, if you're close).. but I doubt GOG would be okay with that and I'd need them to confirm you owned them.

Maybe send them a support ticket and ask if we can do that?

I suppose it would take more than just a screenie of the My Games account page?

Yeah. It'd be pretty easy to fake that, unfortunately.

However, if I went to meet them in person, I could just bring all the games and they could log in to show they owned it and then copy them over.

Well, obviously. First we need an independent arbiter to confirm that:
1. He really is the user we want to engage in post apocalyptic goods exchange
2. He is indeed the owner of the account, the computer and the rights to that computer and account
3. Blood and hair samples must be taken, fingerprints compared to known scammers and evil geniuses
4. The exchange can then take place. It must of course be downloaded from his account, so his computer must be taken to a place with higher internet speed and he himself must enter the password to gain entry.
5. The game is downloaded, copied to a USB stick and all traces must be deleted and pawed over.
6. He can now return to a DRM free gaming experience.
Try the GOG downloader. It can resume downloads and you can limit its bandwidth usage between specified times. Getting the game in a day is better than waiting for the mail or not getting it.
