Yay! Now to wait for the awesome mods it'll make possible. :D
How nice of Bethesda to specify that it doesn't work with the Russian Skyrim.
Is that the Skyrim DLC that lets you build cookie cutter houses that are inferior to anything the modding scene churned out over the months, and adopt children for some reason?

Don't answer that.

True but it have one major thing that only one mod have imperfectly managed before. That is to chose from building blocks how you want your house yourself.
There is always things in a house that you'd like different and Hearthfire will most hopefully give modders the possibility to create mods that give you the power to build the house that you yourself would like (More or less. Hopefully more. :) ) without learning to use the Creation Kit which is a bitch to learn.

Doesn't Hearthfire contain its own incompatibilities and glitches? There were some listed before it even hit release.

That's the mod I meant when I said only one mod have done something similar before. And from what I hear it's far from perfect.

I'm sorry to hear that Hearthfire won't work on the Russian version of Skyrim. Hopefully the problems will be sorted soon.

Glitches? Problems? In a Bethesda release? Surely you jest?
Seriously have Bethesda ever released something that doesn't have major problems? Those problems will be sorted in a official or more likely unofficial patch. :)

I have enough housework to do in real life.

I'll just dump Lydia in my new homestead, give her some money, leave it to her to do the work and go out killing stuff in the meantime.

Also, make sure she never wears shoes.

1C managed to delay one of the patches for New Vegas by a year. They couldn't give fewer fucks about DLC support if they tried. That's why the way to by those games for me is online, ROW version, and a complete all-included edition.

Good idéa. Then she can't run away from the house and work.

That's not foolproof I'm afraid. Though it do get rid of some problems. The only way I've found to deal with this is to search for unofficial patches.

Exactly. After the finally final edition is out, the unofficial patches become less of a mess as well. Although, the unofficial F3 patch itself requires some manual Editor work to fix the bugs in its final version.
A DLC to build a house? Aren't there already 6 or 7 of those you can buy and outfit in the game, not counting all the ones added by mods?

I'll be curious to see how well this thing sells, because being a virtual architect and playing house with an adopted baby definitely isn't why I bought Skyrim.
