If GOG has regional pricing, then my first thought is that some assehole made them do it as a condition for selling GOG the distribution rights to the asseholes game.
Any guesses on which game companies would do that?
Edit: But on the other hand, given that international currency exchange is such a new idea, only having been introduced since 'ancient' times thousands of years ago, i can understand why some game companies would not realize it's existence and have to use regional pricing.
Edit: just read the tagged post on regional pricing, i was right! But the main reason for regional pricing (retail stores) makes no sense to me here in Australia. If i see a game regionally priced against me on Steam, why can i buy the same game off the shelf for half the price, then register it on Steam anyway to play without the disk??

That's a flawed argument since it's CDPR who decided to go with Namco Bandai as a publisher, again. They would have been well aware of their requirements from Witcher 2 already.

Paypal still has that issue and there's no way of telling them that you're traveling. I had a lot of fun in China dealing with them automatically reversing charges without my permission.

It wasn't changing the price for me at all when I changed through Account settings, so I changed back to US.

I left myself in Russia out of contempt for these ridiculous pricing policy changes and I shall remain "in" Russia until they do the right thing and fix this.

How is regional pricing being enforced?
Tiny robots... millions and millions of armed, tiny robots. With teeth. And buzzsaw hands. And camera eyes. Electrified army-bots that can see your thermal body heat. Waiting to pounce from the shadows.

"by the end of this year, I'm making the promise that we will have converted our classic catalog over to fair regional pricing"
Direct quote. No room for Doubt. No Uncertainty. Plain english.
I agree my comment wasn't clear that you might be charged in your local currency (or just a different currency) rather than USD, but this is pretty much a technicality.

I hear they're going to use deadly Japanese hornets. But only for the UK members. And maybe the Aussies.

We will see 3rd party russian GOG-gift key sellers on other sites like Kinguin later this year.
And no, i dont have inside information. Its just the usual thing that happens with regional pricing.

I put my VPN at work and I've got strange results:
Russia: RUB599.00, We'll bill the equivalent in USD: $16.99
USA / Canada / France / Germany / Brazil / Australia / Singapore / Japan: $39.99
UK: £29.99, We'll bill the equivalent in USD: $49.99
Romania / South Africa: €39.99, We'll bill the equivalent in USD: $54.99
So rich European countries get to pay less than poor European countries and UK sits in the middle.
Russia gets it for very cheap, guess they are very poor now after the 50 billions olympic gamess...
