Crosmando: Wait a second I've never even heard of SM's Railroads before, and it doesn't seem to be on Steam...

Does it have anything to do with SM's Railroad Tycoon?
Maybe it is not in your region? http://store.steampowered.com/app/7600/
"Sid Meier's Railroads!" exactly, no tycoon in the title :P

Yeah, region seems to be the issue

It is a modernizes, streamlined version of Railroad Tycoon which has a very bad reputation for having severe bugs that were never fixed (mostly technical, but I think gameplay as well). I never played it myself though, so I can't say whether that's true or just rumor. As part of a PWYW bundle it ought to be worth gambling a dollar on, imho.
Right, seems to be 3D so I guess it's same league as that 3D remake of Pirates! I guess?

Shame Railroad Tycoon isn't on GOG (or anywhere), it had this really nice VGA remake in 92' I think.

Yes. From what I've read, the two games share the same design philosophy: Take a vastly popular old game and redesign it for a new (more casual) audience by giving it better graphics and simplifying the gameplay. Pirates has the better reputation of the two - not really a good one, but better than Railroads.

But as said, I haven't played it myself. There could very well be an enjoyable game underneath, which just got buried under the disappointment of people who were waiting for a "real" new and updated Railroad Tycoon without the casualization. I'd say, buy the bundle and build your own opinion. :)
I bought for Ace Patrol. Does this make me a bad person?

An enigmatic one ... even more so.

Heh.... just tried this, this version they host is pretty whacked. It uses an ancient version of DOSbox (0.65) and also there's this forced 2K logo video that plays in full-screen when you start the game... But otherwise it's the Deluxe version.

Looks like they must have put together this package years ago and just forgot it was on their site
Nice bundle. I already own the BTA games, so unless Sid Meier's Antietam! magically appears from nowhere as a BTA game in a few days, I'll just stick with the lower tier.

Side note - When is GOG going to get Gettysburg and Antietam? I've been trying to get my hands on the latter for a long time, but not at current e-bay and amazon prices...

I really liked the '04 remake. I don't recall there being any any technical or gameplay issues with it. In fact, IIRC, many of the "mini games" in the remake worked a lot better than several of the sub-gameplay elements in the original game, like the sword-fighting or the land combat.
Anyone else having problems launching Civilization IV? When I click Play on Steam, it just loads something for a few seconds, then stops doing nothing. Tried running the game as admin, nothing. I'm running Win 7 64-bit.

Sigh...this is why I prefer GOG with games that are even a touch older. The first launch is always a gamble on Steam, whether or not something will run (or if it runs, will it run perfectly without graphical issues, etc.) The last time I lost my nerves with a game on Steam, was with Tomb Raider Legend last December. And that game was released in 2006 I think: you'd think a game that was last-gen, would run without extra effort even today... edit: oh and Shadowgrounds: that too will not launch on Steam anymore. What a piece of crap software.

Terrible person, you are. TERRIBLE.

Just for that, you now have to play Candy Crush for 24 hours straight.
