I don't think I've ever seen a better gaming deal before, except maybe that EA Origin free games fiasco from a few weeks ago.

I'm betting on Homefront being the bonus, or at least one of them.

Are you claiming that anyone would believe that DRM is a marketable asset? Everyone at that table would know the reason this would be the best selling bundle is because these are big-name, highly marketed AAA titles. The addition of the Steam requirement would, if anything, only hurt sales.

Trust me, the decision makers at EA or whoever know the difference in market presence between a title like Saint's Row and a title like Voxatron.

What makes you so sure there will BE any bonus? They have violated every other principle and tradition they had. Why not that one as well?

kodeen, they will claim that all else being equal in the absence of DRM it would sell less due to piracy. Remember I am talking about companies that are otherwise reluctant to sign up. Devs that are already passionate anti-DRM advocates likely won't be a problem. Unless this convinces them to give up that anti-DRM stance due to $$$.

Now if they had allowed a company like THQ onto the Humble Bundle under their regular terms and it had this sales success that would send a completely different message to the industry.

Bad things are 1000x as likely to happen in any given situation as good things. Always expect the worst humanly possible. That is what I do and I still end up continually disappointed since things tend to turn out worst that I could have imagined.

I'm updating my contribution to be counted as for Linux. Just to screw with the statistics. ;-)

and the humble bundle guys will say "actually the pack sold a lot more because of the insane value and savings of these games that once retailed for $50-$60 apiece" and if the devs have had half a brain they'd realize the Humble guys are right. If they don't realize that, then they don't have half a brain so they can't make a decent game...so why would you want to buy their shitty games anyway? Bam.

Developers making otherwise great games have made at least as stupid statements before.

I have all COH games via Steams. The message: "Gewaltgemindert: Gewaltgeminderte Version - nur auf Deutsch verfügbar" is wrong. You can select every language version. AFAIK the only censored thing is the german translation (text and audio) - getting rid of any "explizit" NS-language.

Maybe next we will see Humble Interplay Bundle. They have to be about as desperate as THQ these days.

The next bundles with be the Humble Origin Bundle, The Humble Securom Bundle, The Humble UPlay Bundle and the Humble GFWL Bundle. Heck they even let GFWL through in this first bundle. YUCK.

Why is it everytime Steam or Windows comes up, there seems to be a bunch of doomsday prophets declaring that "GAMING IS DEAD".

Would I have rather there be non-Steam versions? Absolutely. Does this ruin the bundle? Not really.

For me the cross-platform thing is more important than DRM free. But they are about equal ina Humble Bundle context.

Those are big name mainstream publishers...who most likely wouldn't go to Humble anyways. THQ is a weird exception because of the trouble they ran into
