AllisonUnderland: Voted What Could Go Wrong, Mnemonic, and Derelict. I'd be thrilled to see Steed make it as well, though, and wish I could've voted for a fourth so I could cover that.

Voted Little Pink Best Buds for Ward's game, because it sounded like the exact sort of weird unnerving thing I like seeing out of him. Suspect it'll be No More McDonald's, though.
Great choices. ;) I'd also like to see Steed be made because it sounds like a really fun concept if executed well.
I've picked What Could Go Wrong, Mnemonic and Eras of Adventure.
I missed the first round, but at least that decreased the choices a bit and I thought it should be easier to pick 3 out of these, but after watching the proposals, I'd still love to vote for four, d'oh!!! :D

Out of Steed, ExtraTerrarium, ether and Mnemonic, do you think Steed will be the most popular and least in need of additional votes?
Only 7 hours left till we get the top 3 games, I hope atleast one of my votes gets picked for a prototype. :)

Well I also thought of voting tactically at first but then I just voted for the ones that I personally would really want to play. Since all the previous votes were wiped out we can't really be sure which one is popular, most people on the DF forums think What Could Go Wrong and Dear Leader are the front runners.

Yeah, but what to do if you want to play all four in equal measure? :D

Well, I think among my four favorites, Steed is the one that's been the most vague in terms of gameplay and I'm probably influenced by the art style of the presentation, which might not be the best ground for favoring it over others. Then again, I'll probably be disappointed if in the end I find out that my other picks never had a chance and Steed narrowly loses to games like What Could Go Wrong and Dear Leader that I can't imagine having much fun with (as much as I like Anna Kipnis, sorry ;) ).

As long as they throw in a hind-kick to the balls mini-game would make it instant buy.

I also wondered what kind of gameplay it would use. Most of what I thought it may have didn't sound appealing.
Example: you ride your owner into a battle, ... and you have to follow onscreen prompts (aka: the humans commands to the horse)... just doesn't sound fun.
What if your owner doesn't feed or groom you, can you start acting up in the stable/wherever, and start making loud noises and kicking to get them to feed you?
I just dont see you having much freedom of choice because horses in that role are broken to obey commands.

Do we choose to drink water from the river we are lead too? Do we choose where to strategically place our poo to get humans to step in it? :D lol

Unless the horse turns into batman when everyone is asleep and we can preform some parkour through town, and kill unsuspecting villans in the pale moon light... will I really be hot for the game.

All we can do is wait and see.

ps. the reminds me of that flash game, where you are a weaponshop/smithy and follow adventures on quests, making thier weapons for them, instad of playing as the adventurers.
edit: I remembered its name, Jacksmith over on kongregate.

While I disagree with you about What Could Go Wrong as I think it could be really fun, I do agree with you about Dear Leader. Because as much as I enjoyed Papers Please which was made by Lucas Pope alone, I think a game like Dear Leader could be made with a small Team into a full game without a need of it being prototyped as it is not the sort of game that would require a lot of money to create IMO so I would like to see more ambitious games instead, even though I also really like Anna.

gbaz69: *snip*
I think you haven't grasped the main concept of the game i.e. why people are finding it so interesting, here is what John Bernhelm said in the DF forums about the game:

"One of the themes I’d want to explore in Steed is control. The fiction will explain why as a horse-for-hire, your horse character is *not* controlled by his riders. Maybe there is an illusion of control (you want the money!), but the power firmly lies with the horse and the inept heroes are thankful for it!"

I strongly suggest that you check out the Steed thread in the DF Forums here for more information regarding the world building and gameplay mechanics. And also checkout the finalist interviews with Tim. I am sure you would be much more interested thereafter. :)

We don't disagree on this, it's just a matter of personal preference. I think it could be really fun, too, only ... for other people and not for me. ;)
Live stream to reveal the three finalists is about to start here

The Prototype are -

Pendleton Ward's Little Pink Best Buds
Dear Leader
Mnemonic
Steed

None of the ones I voted for made it, but I'm still excited to see these ones!

Yay, 2 out of 3 of my votes won. Regardless which games lost, we're still gonna get three great prototypes from Double Fine. :)
Not a single game I voted for made it.
Although Steed and Dear Leader seem interesting enough to give them ago. The other two fail to interest me though.

I was really rooting for Derelict, and I voted for What Could Go Wrong as well (and I don't recall my third vote, but it might have been Mnemonic). Still looking forward to seeing what they come up with!
I didn't vote for Mnemonic but the concept looked interesting. And I voted for Steed. In the end, I'm glad though I think the proposals were more detailed in the previous Amnesia Fortnight.

We'll see what they are up to.
