To be fair, she isn't talking about everyone being a rapist, she's talking about almost every man being a rape-supporter. Her text defined a male rape-supporter to be someone who fits at least one the criteria given. Judging by her text, I'd say rape-supporters aren't that bad.

Outside her definition, supporting rape is bad. Very bad. And downright silly.

Texts like hers aren't really constructive to the cause. It's almost as bad as that one text I read with the title "Why every man whose name starts with an A is an asshole" (oh hey, mine starts with an A), or the rant I had to listen to about how "every man is either a complete prick or so damn boring". While misguided arguments like those don't really change anything, they might get people on the defensive (or thinking you're off your rocker).

I'd like to think I'm not a rape-supporter, but if hers is the valid definition, I fear I am.

And guys, rape jokes are kinda bad, mmkay. Someone might get some really bad vibes, and the thread title is kind of misleading and might seriously scare someone.

Rape jokes don't mean we advocate rape or support it...also they're not as bad either.

Although I rank rape slightly above murder and feel that rapists should have unspeakable punishments done to them.. it turns out I'm a rape supporter.
And I'll probably be a child-molester-supporter sometime in the future too, since that is obviously going to be the next article.

I'm not sure, it's a feeling thing.. which you know, guys are terrible at.
But I feel like you only get murdered once, but the violation of rape stays with you forever (or a long time anyways). And if it was very bad certain things can trigger the memory so it's like you're violated over and over.
But that's just my feelings/opinion about the matter and at this juncture in time.

Yes but murder means you die...at least if raped you're still alive. Just my two cents. Not saying rape is way less a crime than murder though.

Of course they don't mean you automatically advocate or support rape. It's even more obvious that they're nowhere near as bad as rape or supporting it. That does not mean that rape jokes aren't bad, though. For example, someone might have a post-traumatic stress disorder from a case of rape, and that stuff ain't a joke, it can seriously mess you up. Even without PTSD, someone might get extremely offended or emotionally distraught.

There could very well be someone like that in the GOG forums for all we know. I'm saying not making rape jokes would be considerate.

I also can't walk on glass for everyone at all times.....I haven't made fun of someone being raped, or the act in general, so I feel no need to stop doing so if it's betwen the people here only. Yes, it would be considerate to some, but such people might not even come in here thus leaving no need to do so & making such acts redundant.

Plus if someone was raped and came here I don't think they'd enter such a thread with this title....I wouldn't, anyways.

Also I didn't makes jokes about being raped, but about the term......if we can't joke about or talk about a term lest it upset someone somewhere at every turn then the world becomes a very rotten place indeed.

All in all, if someone came in here & said it offended them because they had suffered or knew those who did then i'd cut back or even stop...but until then I see no need.

To my knowledge, "rape-supporter" isn't a word in the dictionary and I do not know its proper definition if it has one. I infer its meaning is "someone who supports rape" by the two words it consists of, "rape" and "supporter", but as a single phrase "rape-supporter" it could have a crazy meaning. If I tried to deduce what a "hang glider" is without proper knowledge, I'd be way off the mark.

So, "rape-supporter" might be a word with a Batshit Insane Ave heading straight out of Crazy Town definition as I'm not an expert in the subject.
