grinninglich: make love with your girlfriend
avatar
Licurg: Why would anyone want to do that when GOG has so many great games just waiting to be played?
Because the girlfriend demands it, and she's the one who takes care of the cleaning, cooking, garbage, groceries, bills and mail around the house. A pretty good deal if you ask me. Leaves me more time for games.

Anyway. Have fun in the real world, ne_zavarj, and welcome back when you feel like it.

Good luck in whatever comes next for you!

Best pick is a community which fits your generation and thinking alike the most.. Confronting ideas is great and constructive but can cause major stress, save you the trouble life is harsh enough as it is to add on it purposely.

langurmonkey: I'm sure you will be back.

orcishgamer: There's several that have bailed and if they've come back only lurk (or rarely post).

I would say, for the OP, yeah, just do other stuff for a week. Not games, get out and see some people, take a line dancing class, whatever.
Guys leaving a forum is like when somebody os leaving a party. If they don't announce their leaving you always wonder where he is. Especially if you made a snarky remark. The op was one of the more visible face here and for better or worse, his absense will be noticed.
Good luck with whatever you want to do.
Farewell!
Its the first time i think someone is anouncing that they leaving lol and i am almost here every day.

ne_zavarj: on 1st of January , so if you would like to receive or trade games ( or gift ) you have 7 days left .
I'll miss you if you go through with this :(
we all need a break from online once in a while , take your time and come back
Good luck, you will be missed. I was feeling burned out with everything gaming. I stopped playing, looking at forums for about a month. Then when I played a game it was exciting again and that burned out feeling left.
Sorry to hear ne_zavarj

Best of luck in your endeavors.
I think you're taking this to srsly, u don't have to say hi, goodbye or even have a good post/time ratio, just have fun and come and go as you please.
As others have been saying, no need to make a dramatic departure, just be absent from the forums until you feel like coming back. I've been on GOG since 2009 with just a small selection of games and oblivious to the forums until this past year. Don't do anything foolish like close down your account and lose your shelf and any subsequent updates for your games (remember we just got EA expansions.) If you are burnt out on GOG, stay away from the forums and stop browsing games for a month or two, as was suggested. When you are back, it will probably be a very fresh experience.
Plans for 2013 :

I will
- play casual games ( i think it will take about more than 500 hours )
- create a new personal budget
- read sci-fi magazine of Galaktika
- watch Sherlock Holmes series ( Jeremy Brett ) + the two new movies ( online )
- listen Jenő Rejtő ( alias P.Howard ) audiobooks ( online )
- watch The Hobbit ( online )
- buy some corn pipes
- Grooveshark

jepsen1977: I would also beg you to come back but only because I want to know if you ever did finish Terminator Salvation like you once talked about?
Trigger words bro! Trigger words!

No I never finished it. And I sold all my boxes so I no longer own it. Thank God.
