Quick check of the reviews gives a "it's OK, but nothing special other than existing at a time when nothing else does what Kronos does". But I kinda feel like giving it a try, I feel like playing a game like this.

Anybody feels like selling it to me? I would be specially happy if there's some kind of tech tree progresion over the campaign, or unit XP, something like that. Because if not I may try to "aquire" a copy of Liberation day instead, I got an itch and that game could scratch it pretty well.
Nice promo but i'll have to wait until i get a new PC before i grab this game. :D

There's actually a substantial difference between the score in the popular reviews and the average score. The top reviews came in when the game was only just released and suffering from some day-one problems, mostly corrected in later updates. Just quick two cents from me, here. I'll leave the actuall "selling" you on the game to someone who played it longer than 30 minutes ;-)
Bad timing for me but I'm sure it will go on sale again.

I'm not sure I get what you mean by unit XP, but you upgrade your units during the mission which unlocks that 2-perk combo for you to bring a unit with it onto the next mission. Does that even make sense? =/

this looks a lot like Command and Conquer from the early days... is it any similar?

Unit XP, from what I know in other games, means that your units gain experience after battles and, thus, the better you are at keeping your units alive, the stronger your individual units become over rime. Keep in mind that I am basing my experience with unit XP on Master of Magic :)

Yeah, that was the idea. I enjoy a lot more taking care of my units and see them grow than massing a horde of them and throw them at the enemy base. Specially when this XP can be kept across the campaign, this is why I enjoyed Battle for Middle Earth a lot more than C&C. ...Well, that and the cavalry charges.

I'm bad at explaining it. Basically, shooting and getting shot nets the unit xp and you can upgrade said unit twice during the mission. For instance, you get improved armor and range. For the next mission, you can then choose to bring along a unit (or however many you have points enough to purchase) that already has these abilities. I hope that makes more sense.

What kind of sandwich is it?

My playstyle is a bit different as I tend to be more of a "cannon fodder" style general in strategies, which means I am real bad at those games :/
I like this one, haven't got close to finishing the campaign yet.

I thinkt it's a new campaign with trains as possible units... maybe? I'm only about halfway through the first campaign so I don't know anything about what happens after that.
