mystral: Top 50!?
Isn't that a bit much? When has there ever been more than a dozen or so good indie games released in a year?

Most of the games they listed don't seem appealing at all, at least to me, though of course it's hard to have an opinion on just one screenshot and a brief blurb.

Edit: I also find it interesting that they don't list the indie games I'm most interested in for 2013 even in the list after their top 50.
I guess that means there are a lot of indies that are slated for release in 2013.
But how many will actually be any good is anybody's guess. Personally, I'm betting way less than 50, but that's just me.
Fair enough, but did you actually bother to read the accompanying text? It's nothing more than a personal selection by the blog's editors with no claim to greatness or universal validity, they just picked the 50+ indies they are most anticipating (they don't even know if they will be the best, they're just looking forward to checking them out). And seeing that the blog is specialised in indie games, it's not that surprising that they'd find 50+ games to list, regardless of whether the average gamer would prefer them to e.g. AAA titles with better graphics or not.

Even if this was supposed to be a Best-of list (which it isn't), it would go without saying that it's a subjective choice that not everyone will agree with.

Well, all I can say is that if they're honestly anticipating at least 50 games in 2013, they're either extremely optimistic or completely deluded. Or maybe they have way too much time on their hands.
I don't know about you, but I'm actually anticipating only a few titles a year. The rest can be a pleasant surprise. Because frankly I don't even have the time to play (as in, more than an hour or so to try it out) much more than 10 games in a year, let alone 50.

So making a list of the top 50 titles you're anticipating in 2013 (especially one excluding non-indie games) strikes me as more than a little exaggerated.

Still, if they want to make a list of most of the indie games that might come out in 2013, then it's fine by me, and useful for most people who can each find a few games they might be interested in.
Calling the "top 50 most anticipated indie games of 2013" is a little nonsensical, however. No offense meant.
Thanks OP

I shared the list/link on Facebook and Twitter.

Like I said, it's a blog exclusively about indie games, so checking out indie games is their day-to-day work or at least their big passion. This is different than anticipating a few games for your own private use, they write about these games, award them etc.. You may be right that "most anticipated" sounds a little exaggerated, but then again, if they're really passionate about the indie game scene, they might be anticipating each and every release, heh. And creating a bit of hype by drawing attention to the article's headline is part of the business, the fact that you noticed and discussed it, is prove that it works. ;)
Nice link.

Will have to take some time to trawl through and see what tickles my fancy.

The only Indies that I was waiting for were Antharion and Driftmoon. Looking at that list, I may be adding a few more
Everdang on der but dat MLP bullshit looks gerd.
