Dear staycationists, we’re pleased to present you the next set of tour packages from our ‘Interplay Summer Staycations’ offer. Our offering is known for loads of fun and really low prices, and that’s not just marketing bla bla, but it has been approved by the Staycationist's Union of Perpetually Excited Raconteurs*! In honor of our endorsement by S.U.P.E.R, we're using an excessive amount of exclamation marks in this newspost!

finally bought digital copies of Fallout 1 + 2 + Tactics, and picked up Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader.
Anyone else catch the spelling error in the paragraph on the Earthworm Jim games?

"Our next staycation offer includes the world’s most famous one: Earthworm Jim in two versions - classic side-scroler in Earthworm Jim 1+2 and in three dimensions in Earthworm Jim 3D."

My first post and someone already at GOG probably dislikes me. :D
Never played Descent 1 or 2, but got Descent 3, Unreal and some other game, cant remember what, bundled with my Voodoo 3 graphics card. Awesome times.

"...it’s the 3D real-time strategy game before the 3D real-time strategy games ever existed..."
Huh? I thought Bungie's Myth: The Fallen Lords was the first fully 3D RTS game (I at least thought that it was the first fully 3D RTT game), as it was released in 1997. Heck, Myth II: Soulblighter was released in 1999, too...and from what I recall, Sacrifice was released in 2000.

GameRager: You seriosuly found nothing you wanted besides one game this sale? :(

Metro09: How many times have the Interplay games been on sale? Plenty. Honestly it surprises me I still see people with forum join dates of 2009/2010ish go 'ZOMG, t3h Fallout games on sale!!!' There are people that don't already own these?
No, not everyone played them or got them when they were last on sale due to either not being here yet or just not buying them for some very foolish or weird reason. :)

BoxOfSnoo: First of all, axes is plural of axis...

Next, it's not called 6 axes, but 6 degrees of freedom.
1. forward, reverse
2. up, down
3. left, right
4. roll
5. pitch
6. yaw

diegopmc: I thought we were talking about mathematics... Anyway, that was my point, there are not six axes in 3D space. In 6D space there are, indeed, six axes. :P
No you're completely correct about axes, but that's why they *don't* call this a six axis game (you'll have to talk to Sony about that) but 6DOF.

In any case, too much talkin and not enough robot blastin!
I purchased 4 games, Descent 1 & 2, Descent 3 & expansion, Battle Chess, and Freespace 2, not bad for $12.00.
There are a few DOS BOX games (Descent for example) that treat my 360 controller like a 4 button joystick. I'd like to emulate keystrokes so I can use "every" button and both joysticks on the controller. What is the best "freeware" program to do that? Particularly one that isn't 360 only, in case I buy another controller.

I'm hoping there isn't some blatantly obvious answer, but why is the Interplay promo now advertised as 'Interplay Summer Staycation package 2' when there's already an open topic and promo page at 'Save 50% on all Interplay destinations with GOG.com's Summer...'?

All of the Interplay games are on sale until 7/4. The staycation packages are just "sales brochures" for certain games that GOG feels would be worth your time. There will probably be one (possibly two) more.
I totally grabbed Descent 3 + expansion. Looking forward to fun!

DrIstvaan: I think it is understandable, as since the "GOG 1st birthday buy 1, get 1 free" promo Interplay games went on sale only during the large '09 Xmas sale; aside from that, zero times, not even in last year's Christmas promo.

Metro09: Not entirely convinced that's accurate but I'll take it on faith.
it may sound strange but even though I love Fallout games I didn't buy them here yet... the reason is simple - I have all of them once on CDs and twice on DVDs (bundled with a gaming magazine), so I think that's enough copies ;) also, I've finished them all and just the thought of going through all that massive gameplay makes me faint :D it's really awesome, don't get me wrong, but playing it for the fourth time just hurts ("oh my, not this quest again!")
Picked up 9 titles ... if only I would also get the time to play them :) ... still ... looking forward to the next summer offer .... maybe an Atari sale ? :="
