Landeril: I dunno really what would be considered JRPG

I guess Septerra Core Legacy of the Creator(You can find it on GOG)
avatar
Parvateshwar: Thanks, Landeril. I've decided to try Septerra, partly out of convenience and partly because most of the other recommendations require emulators. I'll give it a try tonight and let you know my impression.
I bought it while ago and it reminds me of final fantasy. Haven't played that much yet. Resolution could be bit higher as in you could see more of the area. Combat, well, I don't get it just yet.
There should be more jrpgs in pc.
I sure would like to play xenoblade chronicles but only thing that is missing is the console, the game and TV.

There are quite a lot of jrpgs on the pc, they just never go outside of japan and korea. Magna Carta, Lunar.. hell, there's even a PC Langrisser.

What choice do I have? If they never even translate those. I guess there are still some jrpgs that I didn't play when I used to play with playstations. Those had quite good selection of almost everything. It's like, I wan't a game that mature but uses a bit like same combat system that some of final fantasys did.
Witchers are still great. =)

Edit: And my eyes are tired, don't expect me to write flawlessly. =)

You do what I did, and spend your painfully collected cash on a PS2 (or two) and ze games :D And what you want is Xenosaga ;)
This thread made we want to play FF7 really bad. And then to watch the movie again

I guess Dead Island and Space Marine will have to wait again, I'll never finish them...

My PS2 died recently, couldn't handle my small nephew dealing with it. Luckily My old PS3 still can play PS2 games.

I do own ps2 but that bastard should have hdmi or something. Pretty hard to connect that to my monitor.
You really aren't going to find many good JRPGs on the PC unless you use an emulator.

Get one of these. What I use myself, can directly connect the video output onto the analog of the monitor. Or they have HDMI models, too. You can then jack the white and red audio cables into your speaker system, and play on your monitor. Supports PAL and NTSC alike.
If you decide to emulate, remember that the SNES version of Chrono Trigger is superior to the PSX one due to horrendous loading times and delays of the latter. Seriously, everything takes longer - beginning of every fight, map transitions, going to the menu... supremely annoying.
The only other difference between the two versions are the couple of anime cutscenes present in the PSX version. They're not that great, and completely unnecessary to enjoy the game. You can see them all on Youtube anyway.

Ohgod, the terrible memories came flooding back in...
"HERE COMES MY IMPACT BOMB!" Gotta love the voiceacting.

But yeah, the game was ok, if a bit easy, and some of the music was fantastic.

Landeril: Haven't seen them for the PC outside Emulators.
I'm sure FF7 was released on PC. I know FF8 was.

Yep, both were ported to the PC by Eidos. 7 was/is a bit of a mess without some fixes/mods though.
