Elmofongo: Sorry to derail this thread, but I just also want to show that this is the most underrated Jurassic Park game:

Odd, I thought Jurassic Park: Trespasser would be it. Then again its not so much underrated as it is just not as well known. While gameplay is a bit out there, I was thrilled by the voice acting of Richard Attenborough who read John Hammonds "memoir's".

I thought Tresspasser was one of those "so bad it's good" and "way ahead of it's time" sorta games. I really want to play it just to see what it is like.

If you see the whole vid what did you thought of Jurassic Park 2; The Chaos Continues?

PyreBall: Thanks a bunch for all your help, guys. You guys are pretty awesome after you get the snark out of your system :P Also, does GOG start the process of acquiring a game after a certain number of votes?
avatar
tinyE: I don't even know if they look at the wish list to be honest. :P Some stuff like Lucas Arts games can get countless votes and it won't amount to anything because of licensing (spell).
I kinda figured. Well, I can hope.

No shit because the reason it is so obscure is because this the hardest game in the snes because there is no checkpoints, you die you start all the way back to the beginning unless you beat the level.

But this game does has a great soundtrack and athmosphere:

Hate to revive such an old thread, but I was wondering if a mod or admin might be able to tell if there's been any progress in procuring this title for the GoG shop?
Is Operation Genesis the RTS / theme park sort of game? I always wanted to play this but had no clue it was so difficult to procure.

I also played and really enjoyed a Super Nintendo Jurassic Park game (I always remember getting stuck at a point in the "main command center" area, that involved hacking elevators or rebooting the computer systems). I never got far in it but I chalk that up to being a young gamer unable to really "figure out" puzzles. For an SNES game it was actually a bit open world, though with roadblocks that required a bit of puzzle solving or proper ordering of events and actions.

Another game on the SNES that I ALWAYS got stuck on, for similar reasons and which I also forgot the name of was an EXCELLENT Star Trek game - different worlds, but sort of similar playstyles. The ST game involved Next Generation crew, it had a ship combat mode that was sort of like Starfleet Command in perspective, but real time; and more interactive. The game allowed the player to send down away teams of NG "mains" on missions. Totally off topic, but the mission I always got stuck on (again, young gamer "puzzle-itis") was one that involved reprogramming a computer by sliding around tiles on a massive board... ever play those old "hand held" ;) puzzle games, where you moved around ACTUAL wooden tiles you held in your hand??? It was like that, but in a video game! Anyway, this rant has now devolved into something that belongs in the Drunk thread ;) Good luck on getting the game added, and if anyone knows the original SNES games I mentioned I'd LOVE the official names!
its a damn fun game especially when u have a big area set with both carnivorous and herbivorous dinosaurs and also the t-rex vs spinosaurus fights that can happen are fun to watch, atleast untill u pull the trigger on your rifle from the heli

They don't say anything about coming games. The release announcement is the first you'll hear, if it comes at all.

Ah, crap. Thanks for the info. And Operation Genesis was the fusion of Jurassic Park and SimCity.
