Now...I know that the name of this website means that it deals primarily in very old games that are very hard to find. Operation Genesis fits that to a T, except that it was released in 2003, and so doesn't make it that old. JP:OG is, essentially, the offspring of the Jurassic Park IP and SimCity. It looks really cool but it's not here or on Steam, and Amazon is absurdly expensive from what I've seen. I was wondering what it takes for GOG to acquire the rights to sell a particular property and if they'd be able to do so with this game.
Sorry to derail this thread, but I just also want to show that this is the most underrated Jurassic Park game:

Since whe does this site deal with "the hard to find"? I've got 10 copies of Duke 3d and only one of them came from here.

10? Whoa I got exactly 1 and it's broken.
Well, I meant stuff like the old Ultima series and other similar games that would normally be hard to find and even harder to run on modern rigs. Back on topic, please. I just looked over Amazon again and the cheapest copy is over $80.
I guess put it onto the community wishlist and wait. Maybe others want it too. This would mean the chances that it will be added is a tad bit higher.

*edit* cleaned up the rubbish I typed.

I know, and I'm just having fun with you. :P I actually totally agree with you on the Jurassic Park game and I always just assumed it must be Lucas Art's and thus that whole pain, but as soon as you mentioned it I checked and it's NOT Lucas Art's. What it is is a great game that would do fantastic here, so thumbs up. I guess all we can do now is encourage voting.

Educate me on the wish list the poster before you mentioned. Also...why in the screaming hell is it so expensive? There's one copy on Amazon that's nearly $600 O_o

The wish list should be accessible on the GOG home page or one of the links around here. Look for the game you want (it's probably already on there) and vote for it. Simple enough.

As far as the price thing, I'm not sure but I think it's physical inventory though I may be totally wrong. It's actually one of the things that got me to join GOG. Freespace 2 is $60 + on Amazon USED. Blood may be approaching triple digits. The list goes on and on. It used to bother me but so long as I can come here, get the games for super cheap, AND hang out in this groovy forum I don't really worry about it too much.
Amazon also show's the IE for over 1k € so don't trust it. So the wishlist is pretty much where you add a game that you/the community wants to be able to buy on gog, like the greenlight on Steam for example. You put the name of it and the optionally a small description of what the game is about or what kind of genre it is and why you wanna have it on gog. Then you just can encourage voting and hope that the GOG staff is able to get it onto gog.com.

http://www(dot)gog(dot)com/wishlist/add/games under this link you can add your game to the wishlist.

Obviously replace (dot) with dots... I can't post links as of now, sorry.

Thanks a bunch for all your help, guys. You guys are pretty awesome after you get the snark out of your system :P Also, does GOG start the process of acquiring a game after a certain number of votes?

I don't even know if they look at the wish list to be honest. :P Some stuff like Lucas Arts games can get countless votes and it won't amount to anything because of licensing (spell).

Interestingly enough, the forum software tried to create a link for you. Not that it succeeded in creating a working link, however (if it were smart enough to replace "(dot)" with ".", it'd likely stop you from posting what you did).
That game was awesome, would be nice to see it here. I think there was a strong modding scene behind it that might still be active. You should check with JPLegacy once you get a copy, good mods there.

Keep checking Amazon. I got mine pretty cheap from them some years ago. Prices can fluctuate allot there, keep an eye out for a good deal.
