You know, this exact thing just happened with Street Fighter X Tekken which came out today. All of the DLC that was supposed to be released a few months from now was found to be already present on the disc. 12 additional characters with complete move sets, sounds, graphics, even alternate costumes. It can all be unlocked with a hex editor.

bansama: You do realise that "Day 1 DLC" is actually created only after the game has gone gold right? Thus it has nothing to do with an *earlier* decision to change the control scheme while the game was still in development.
And they couldn't work on a day 1 patch to add controller support after the game went gold? Or as Nijuu said, they could have offered it for free much like they did with the DLC for ME2.

So because some publishers create additional content then add it to the disc (possibly to prevent problems when playing mutliplayer between those who own/don't own the additional content) you automatically assume everyone does it? Like I said, I have tin foil hats, if you'd like one. What makes you think the people who would need to work on a controller patch are the same people as those working on additional content? Further to that, how often do you work for free? Or in other words, why do expect them to work on additional *optional* game play content and then give it away for free?

Like I said, I have tin foil hats, if you'd like one. You're mocking people who suggest that some companies might be diverting resources from the development of the main game to create DLC before the game is even finished. In the example I pointed out, it's pretty clear that this is exactly what has happened, though. We're not even talking about day 1 DLC here, it's more like day 100 DLC, and it was finished before the game went gold.
I know about the development process and that there's time to create DLC after the main game is feature frozen, bla bla bla. However, this doesn't exclude the possibility that shameless developers intentionally withhold content to sell separately later. It's hard to tell how widespread this is and admittedly, Capcom is one of the worst offenders when it comes to DLC, but the temptation is there for other companies to do similar things.

There's no fish in Nigeria. There is phishing though.
Reported for offensive content. It is both offensive to Thais and to hookers of other nationalities. How dare you discriminate between Thai hookers and others, who may or may not be as good, if not better.

You only take a dump in front of your mom? Or...on her...? Do you still have to pay? You are her spawn, but she does need to make a living...
Didn't you get the memo, man? Any game company that actually tries to make a profit is automatically evil. Everything should be given away.
