AFnord: I know that programming an AI is hard, but doing it for monopoly should be relatively easy. It is a game with a clear optimal strategy and it only gives you a handful of things that can be called real choices (it gives you plenty of false choices, but the AI should easily be able to know about those).

Soyeong: At the start of the game, do you skip buying low income properties? If so, which ones? How about later in the came?

When is it ok to buy houses? How many house should be purchased and how much money should be kept in reserve? When is it ok to mortgage a property or sell a house to buy another property?

When is it ok make a trade for a higher income property that involves increasing the chance that they will gain a monopoly, and vice versa? How much cash is it worth to buy/sell something that gives you/them a monopoly? What about trades that involved multiple properties? Is it ok to give them two lower income monopolies in exchange for a higher income one?
There's no real choice there, there's a statistical reason to pick the things you do. You always buy the dark purple properties and put up hotels immediately, although there is strategy over whether you do that or leave it at 4 houses to prevent the other players from being able to build hotels.

But, Monopoly is almost completely solved you don't really get to make many choices as the game is heavily influenced the RNG. And at this point the statisticians know exactly what choices to make.
It's Monopoly. What can I say... it's a game you play once or twice, and avoid for the rest of your life.

Yeap, that is what everyone who always loses says.

I like Monopoly. Although I find it a bit boring to play standard game on computer. Monopoly Streets is cool and a bit different, altough I am unsure wheter it is available on PC.

I wish people would actually doing so. Playing Monopoly is a bit like playing Corridor 7, when you have access to Doom.

Fictionvision: WTF is Monopoly
Ha, that's the monopoly I have on my android!

I noticed TotalBiscuit said he only had access to the American board. I don't know how it works on the PC version but you have different boards on the Android version.

Here's the thing though, you get the different boards in a very strange roundabout way. If you want the UK board (with Pall Mall and such) you have to choose English UK instead of English US as your language when you first start up the game. It's the same for other languages too. If you want a different board you have to quit out of it, start it up again and choose a different language, this ofcourse changes everything else so if you want to check out a German or French board you'd better memorise what all the buttons do.

I don't always lose, but I don't play Monopoly anymore. There are hordes of better games to choose from.
...Now Monopoly Tycoon, that was a good game.
