ok heres my modem information

My Modem is a Netopia Cayman 3300 Modem
and when i plug the dsl to my phonejack i and pluged the ethernet modem to computer
and the ethernet link & traffic is not lighting also dsl link & traffic...

can anyone help please

I asked a question that you haven't answered, but is essential to giving you a proper answer.

Do you actually have DSL service? If so, where are the self-install instructions the telephone company gave you? And why have you not taken this problem up with your telephone company's technical support?

The symptoms you describe are identical with an attempt to use a DSL modem when you do not have DSL service.

k i dont have dsl service oh well and i cant connect my laptop (windows vista) to my desktop (windows 2000) for internet...

If you already have cable, do you have a gateway plugged into the cable modem -- or do you have a computer connected directly to it?
