Hey Guys,

I'm looking for a new strategy game, something like C&C as I do love a good base. Anyone got any suggestions for me?

Good choices - GC 1 & 2 are undervalued by most in my eyes, there are some great mechanics and the games are pretty fun [though the tutorial voice over guy in GC 2 [or was it 1] sounds like he would rather be anywhere else doing anything else]
Dawn of War (incl. Gold & Dark Crusade) - plenty of base building, which isn't present in the sequel. Damn fine games. But I don't think that the sequel games will be as up your street.

Supreme Commander - Spiritual successor to the amazing Total Annihilation (on GOG) probably about the base-buildingest of all games. For instance there is even things like building production buildings next to power buildings getting those productions buildings a power bonus.
No base-building in Ground Control 1 at least, but apart from that it is a really good game, worth checking out if you don't have any experience with RTTs.

Anyway, I'm going to suggest a very overlooked title, that sadly is not on GOG yet:
Armies of Exigo

As for GOG titles:
Cossacks
Populous: The Beginning
Dark Reign
Eart series
Total Annihilation

Got it already.

I'm looking for a game(s) that have a good sci-fi story and base building.

Below is a list of my favourite strategy games I have:

TA
C&C (All of them)
Starcraft 1& 2
Ground Control
Original War
Civilisation
Empire Earth
Supreme Commander

Forgot to add, I do have Dark Reign 1 and the DoW series.

I strongly recommend Supreme Commander and Empire Earth 1 & 2!

Also Cossacks if you like to Zerg Rush.
Perimeter is pretty much only base building. But it is a tad different from C&C.
I'd recommend Earth 2150. Pretty unique game and the gameplay mechanics are designed around the storyline - in a good way too.
Warlock: Master of the Arcane is out in a few days. It's supposedly a mix of Civ and Master of Magic. I haven't played the latter, but after playing the demo of this game, I can say it is definitely worth a look if you liked the Civ series at least.

errr Warlock isn't sci-fi and isn't RTS -- other than those two minor problems with the OP's request its a great suggestion (demo on Steam at present and its loads of fun for any turnbased fantasy RTS fans)

As for suggestions on a good RTS I'd say:
Dark Reign 2 - great little gem here; good visuals, base building, one of the best unit AI control setups ever. Story is decent as well and is told from two different viewpoints for the two different factions.

Supreme commander 2 - slightly different gameplay style to the first game in this series, but I personally like many of the changes (esp making the tech tree contain less redundant unit types). Not quite the same scale feeling as the first, but still good solid fun with large bases.

Rise of Legends - great fantasy/scifi mix RTS game with a very well written story. Game has a steam punk; mystical arabic and techo aztec armies and is a lot of fun. Base building is a little more basic and you won't be building walls or fortifications but the gameplay is very solid.

PS if you like building bases I strongly suggest looking at Stronghold and Stronghold Crusaders - they are the first games in the series but the best (the 2nd kind of ties but fails and the 3rd outright fails). It is more historical based castle building - but you'll never get more fun in a game for building up castles and attacking opponent fortifications. Crusaders has a skirmish mode - the first game lacks this (though does have a free build mode and hitting F1 in that lets you summon invading armies.
grape1829, thanks for the video! I didn't know about that game, I will look into it. It looks amazing.

I corrected your mistake ;)

Though seriously it is a very very slick turnbased game plus manages to do what many fail to and nearly eliminates the "dead" turns (esp at the start) where you're mostly just pressing the turn button to get an initial build up of resources/buildings/techtree etc..... Pretty much every turn is chock full of things to do and yet its a very simple overall formula.

Game is shipping without multiplayer (its being patched in for free at a later date) and the AI in the demo is a bit dim at present (most suspect its on easy - plus there are statements that a new ai is coming in the main release in 3 days time).
