Anyone find it kinda weird NWN2 is currently second on the Top Sellers list, even though it's not on sale?

If anything this is a message to GOG: Get the older D&D games here, they will sell like hotcakes.

Same thing happened last week. No idea what's going on there, but if this is for real: go Obsidian!
At first I thought it might be something to do with Torment: Tides of Numenera, seeing as InXile recently recruited some people who worked on Mask of the Betrayer and posted an update about it, so there's been discussion of MoTB. But that seems like a stretch as I doubt that many people would even be aware of it.
well a title doesn't need to be on sale to sell, if it's good the people will just buy it no matter the price (fair price)

To be fair, the pre-Baldur's Gate D&D games were ... to put it mildly... not the best games out there...

What? The Gold Box series was amazing, and were actually more "open" than the Baldur's Gate series in which you created 1 character at the beginning (not a party), and you could only pick up pre-set companions, and followed a pretty much linear story. Gold Box games were more open-ended, and the combat was more tactical.

Ravenloft 1/2 and Menzobarrenzan weren't great, but OK, Eye of the Beholder series with the exception of 3 were great if a little simple and clicky.

The only outright "bad" pre-BG D&D games would probably be Descent to Undermountain, the "Silver Box" arcadey games (which were horrible) and Hillsfar.

Most of those were before my time, but I did try to play Pool of Radiance once... and somehow I couldn't get into it...

Right now there are only 2 games on sale (Risk of Rain) which is the top seller and BeatBuddy on the 3rd. Perhaps only 5 copies of BeatBuddy were sold in the last 24h :) so it was easy for NWN 2 to surpass it.

Heroes 3 is on the 4th place, I'm not surprised at all, this game is hard to find on other stores (not to mention that is the best game ever made).

FTL: Advanced Edition is on 5th probably due to the recent free content. I also noticed that FTL is the best sold indie game on GOG (nr. 25 on the Best Sell list). I wonder how many copies did they sell? 10.000 - 20.000 copies?
It's not that far behind Witcher 2 (14th) and System Shock 2 (17th).

Well yeah, the interface and graphics are hard to get into for newer players, I myself had a lot of trouble getting into PoD.
Is NWN 2 really that good? When it came out, people were bashing it non stop.

It's like good wine I guess, it gets better with age. But actually what's great about it are the mods :)

The expansions are great, the actual base game (original campaign) is terrible. Though I do know some people who liked it.

It's decent, but it comes with all the problems that are inherent to 3D RPGs. The Neverwinter Nights games are not action games where the addition of height would allow you to do cool stuff like jump around. Making the game in 3D doesn't add anything, it just slows everything down and makes party management during combat more of a hassle. Aside from that though, it was nice, but I still prefer the older 2D games.

I really really enjoyed the main campaign, no so much mask of the betrayer (because of that soul eater timer bs...)
Yes, the Soul Eater curse had mixed reviews, though it kinda had to exist in some way because it's main part of the plot.
