Heroes of Might and Magic meets Fantasy General in this addictive and fun to play strategy game.
[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/fantasy_wars]Fantasy Wars is a turn-based strategy game played on a hex-based map. As such, its combat mechanics are focused on using the terrain and your units' attributes to your advantage. There are many distinct unit types to choose from, including heroes, many of which have unique qualities which make them more suitable for defense, guerrilla warfare and other tasks. You can further customize the units by equipping them with artifacts found during the game, or earned through spectacular victories. Most importantly, the game itself is easy to learn, addictive and gets more and more challenging as you progress through the three campaigns. Sounds fun?
Get it guys, awesome game!
Gonna check it out.
Will check this out when i have some money.
Wonderful - on `my soon to have` list...
It may be a generic fantasy title (as someone said in the "coming soon" thread), but I like the looks of it nonetheless.
Also, GOG, you're spoiling us with two releases today :-). Or is it because there will be no new game Thursday?
Played the Demo and BOTH sides are just as fun. I like how you get challenged by your ability to complete the scenarios. There's some nice touches like for instance seeing Royal Knights charging down goblins. Or your archers firing a hail of arrows. Plus you have so many options to improve your troops. Only downside is there was no editor (that was created in Elven Legacy) But still it's a fun game.
(sigh) so many games...so little time

uhm, seems interesting... goes on my wishlist
This is a really great game. Just one little word of warning: despite the easy to understand rules, it's definitely not an easy game. Make every move count, or you can kiss those gold medals good bye.
graphics looks a bit too bloomy and saturated for my tastes, but I'm a sucker for this kind of games

I wonder whether it includes add-ons released for original russian version of the game.
Rather good game, but the strategic IA is really poor IMO. The tactic looks OK, even though you will quickly understand that its main objective is to gang on the weakest exposed unit. Strategically, the IA never concentrate its forces and never pull back from undefendable position - but it is also due to how the scenarios are designed (most enemy units won't move until you discover them).
Also, the universe is SO generic it is not even interessing.
The rules are almost exactly the same as the one of Fantasy General, which is actually fine. They just added the "new skills with experience" thing.
Overall, good game, but not extraordinary.

I generally like games like this, but this one just looks weird for some reason. Maybe another time I'll check it out.
