April Fools or not, it's Friday and this weekend deal on GOG is no joke! We're giving you an up to 60% discount on all games available in Rebellion's catalogue. If you're serious about strategy games, you'll definitely find some serious gems in that genre like [url=http://www.gog.com/en/catalogue#all_genres/search/empire earth/]Empire Earth, Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death and Pinball Gold Pack. Last but not least we recommend everyone grabbing the great Evil Genius! The promo ends on Monday, April 4 at 11:59 EDT.
I just wanted to chime in and state that I've really enjoyed Lords of Magic over the years. It's got quite a lot of variety - your hero units can be Mage, Thief or Warrior, which give training to lesser units, and there are 8 different faiths (4 elemental, 4 abstract faiths), each with significantly different selections of units. Plus each faith has it's own selection of spells, fantastic creatures and special abilities... and there are artifacts, Great Temples, inter-faith deplomacy and all sorts of other things to do. Resources are your standard gold, beer, and mana... plus one additional one called Reputation.

The balance between the faiths isn`t perfect. Whatever you do, don`t start with Chaos - you`re asking for trouble. All others are fairly playable, though the overall consensus seems to be that Life and Order are the strongest. As a die-hard mage, I love the Fire Mage endgame too much to give it up, even if its units aren`t the strongest.

I come back to this one every summer. It`s definitely one of those unique games that comes along once in a long while.

the only title that I would be interested in purchasing would be pinball gold pack - I have all others that I want but since this is one of those 40-60% promo's I'll pass this weekend

Week without purchasing any games from GOG weekend promos: 5

hopefully that will end next week :)
Evil Genius was the only game on this list I'm really interested in, and I already bought it...
Well I just signed up for GoG this week and was waiting to see what the weekend sale thing was all about before buying my first game.

This came up, and seems like I'll be picking up my first 3 games instead of just one.

Grabbing the Lords of the Realm: Royal Edition
Lords of Magic: Special Edition
Empire Earth: Gold

Should keep me busy for a while on top of the other stuff I play. Lots of entertainment from a little over 10 bucks.
Nice promo, but not my types of games.
Yes! The moment I have been waiting for!

Evil Genius is a really fun game, but it's a serious PITA to get running properly. I have to disable pretty much every other program on the computer and confine it to its own core on my system to get it to work. But, it typically works well after that.
Empire Earth III, argh... Well I´ll go for the promo anyway...
Needs moar Alien vs Predator 1+ 2.
Dur, 1 anyway, Monolith did the second.
(But hey, why not the second too?)
The Pinball Gold Pack taunts me, apparently the only one of these games I haven't bought. GOG and their achievement whoring to the completionist mentality! Arg! Must resist... I don't even like Pinball!

Can't speak for the Gog version but I've never had that problem with Evil Genius myself.
Pick up Empire Earth: Gold and first Ground Control game. I hope I will enjoy them. :)
Okay. This promo is just too awesome. I cannot spend so much money. I wouldnt pay my rent... this will be a hard decision about gaming priorities...

The only game I was always afraid to buy, but now decided to risk, who knows I might like it. :)

Believe me, if you are a human being and not in fact some kind of alien life form, you will hate it.
