April Fools or not, it's Friday and this weekend deal on GOG is no joke! We're giving you an up to 60% discount on all games available in Rebellion's catalogue. If you're serious about strategy games, you'll definitely find some serious gems in that genre like [url=http://www.gog.com/en/catalogue#all_genres/search/empire earth/]Empire Earth, Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death and Pinball Gold Pack. Last but not least we recommend everyone grabbing the great Evil Genius! The promo ends on Monday, April 4 at 11:59 EDT.
Really close to grabbing Pinball Gold.

Question though, When I go to the game's page it shows the normal price rather than the sale price?

Damn. I would have bought Ground Control 2 for sure.

But I just bought a little-over-100 pounds gift for my girl for our two years of being together, so right now I am B.R.O.K.E.

Oh nevermind. Pinball Gold is apparently usually 9.99.

Seems a little high for a pinball game.

Still at 40% off its $5.99 not bad considering it is Pinball.

Yeah, I'm not the biggest pinball fan, just thought it looked cool.

I usually agree with all the prices on gog.com. I just never expected Pinball Gold to normally be 10 dollars.

Well, it isn't one pinball game, it's like five of them. It wouldn't have surprised or upset me if GOG had sold just one or two of the games for $5.99, so all of them for $9.99 is much better than what could have been.

I do agree though, for some reason the normal price did feel too high (even though 10 dollars really isn't that much). I was excited for the release since I loved these games when they were new, but still felt like I won't get that much enjoyment out of them nowadays. But I bought them today so I guess it's time to find out if the nostalgia still holds - maybe I will enjoy them more than I expected.

mutishev: The only game I was always afraid to buy, but now decided to risk, who knows I might like it. :)

Gamerlord: Believe me, if you are a human being and not in fact some kind of alien life form, you will hate it.
Hehe I played two skirmish games against the AI and to be honest the game is not that bad.
It runs better than EE2 and looks better too.

I can see why people hate it, but after so many years and now at this price it is not that bad of a game. It's just not EE. Less factions and ages to advance compared to EE1 and 2, but it is not a bad RTS game on its own. There are much more crappier RTS even on GoG

I guess devs tried something different, tried to compare with some fast paced RTS like SC, CnC, WC3 and betrayed the old fans.

Empire Earth 3 reminds me of Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, awesome first game and the next ones are crap. New ideas bad implemented or badly received by fans.
On their own those games are not bad, but they can't stand near the name of the first one.

OK, I went ahead and bought Lords of Magic SE, and I started it up just to make sure it works (still have way too many games on my back log to play it right now), as soon as I heard the title screen music and the deep voice welcoming me to the lands of Uruk, I had a great flashback of many awesome hours enjoying this game. Looking forward to when I catch up enough to play through it again.
I have a little problem with Pinball gold and I asked this in the Pinball Gold forums but no one answered so I'll post it here

I just bought the game because of the promo and with Pinball dreams 2 Fantasies and Illusions I have trouble mapping the keys. the problem is they put the flipper keys on ctrl which wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that when you press a flipper button the flipper stays up like an asshole. so you have to double tap the button every fucking time. I was able to fix this in all but these three compilations cause all the other games actually have key mapping inside the game. I know there is probably an easy way to fix this so please help/

Please help.

*fixed it, turns out to be sticky keys that affect it. still would like to know how to change the keys around.

I was seriously considering getting Empire Earth II the day before the promo started, and I've wanted Dredd for awhile.

How is it bugs- and pathfinding-wise? I read when it came out that the latter was so horrible, a reviewer cited as an example that he instructed a tank to go attack an enemy unit, to which it responded by starting off in the exact opposite direction. This is part of the hate it gathered, I don't know if it's still so.
There are some pathfinding problems, atleast with too many units on same place. They try to walk around objects and get slow.
Caravans get very slow too if their path cross other units.
Ships have horrible movement, they sort of flicker on from place to place.

Those are annoying bugs, but they are not game breaking, especially that I doubt any of us who buy it now is going to play online. :) For single player it's not that bad.

More important things at least for me are that I can play 4vs4 maps with 8 players without lag, I can't say the same for EE2 :( I love my games to last hours and to witness enormous battles between the teams. :)

I am not advocating EE3, it's not one of the good RTS, it's not a good successor of EE, EE2, it is just a casual RTS.
Bought Lords of the Realm 3 , and Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death . I 'm passing Empire Earth III and Pinball Gold Pack. .
