Rebellion Games 60% off this weekend!

Generals! Soldiers! Warriors! We need your services--and time is precious, so I shall be brief: There's a rebellion going on and casualties have been grim--more than half, in fact. 60% off, I'd say. We need you lead our troops and fight--fight to save us all! What role will you take?

An Evil Genius is needed to establish a base, defend it against all kinds of worthless nogoodniks, and help conquer the world. If that's not your style, perhaps you'd like to establish yourself as a of the [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/lords_of_the_realm_3]Realm, using your strategic and tactical knowhow to crush your opponents and bring the rule of law to the land--your law. You may even have dark powers whispered of only in the shadows, and learn to be a [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/empire_earth_2_gold]Earth Extend your power to control every inch of the ground, for once you've mastered [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/ground_control_expansion]Ground , you will find yourself truly feared. The rebellion may not be over, though--watch out for a [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/sniper_elite_berlin_1945]Sniper Elite who will try and gun you down, and punish those last few dissenters like Judge Dredd.

Finally, once you've crushed the world under your heel? Kick back and enjoy a fun game of pinball. Being a world emperor isn't all work. ;)

And, in case you've missed it, here's what's new. Check out our weekly video about GOG.com's releases and promos and, please be sure to subscribe, like, share, tweet, or plus one our videos if you like 'em. :)
Well, I was kinda hoping for an Atari promo, maybe I'll just pick up Darklands and possibly Outcast (what with the bankruptcy thing). Good promo, though, although nothing for me.
* checks promo *

Don't own Empire Earth 3 , Pinball Gold Pack , Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945 .

gameon: Not that i know of.

TheEnigmaticT: They're in the office interviewing today. That would be a heck of a trial by fire:

"Oh, thank goodness you're here. Quick: fix this newspost."

"But I don't--"

"Dammit, man. There's no time!"
Oh, you are going to make a swell boss. Clearly you were born for this. :D

gibbeynator: Hmm... the next game clue... well, taken literally, it could refer to any hard game. Or it could refer to any game with "Ball" in the title. If you think about it, it could be referring to some kind of pinball or "Breakout" type game. The longshot theory I have is that since an anatomy related clue was given out for Leisure Suit Larry, another anatomy related clue could herald a second Larry bundle, which would include Love for Sail, Pinball and Casino. Another theory is that it could be... Duke Nukem Forever...

Or T's trolling us, and it'll wind up being Bard's Tale.

Telika: Oooh I would love the hint to be about a gog release of Rock of Ages.
avatar
gibbeynator: Could be, but Rock of Ages is published by Atlus, who is not currently signed to GOG. They could be announced, but we're probably too close to the GOG conference for them to announce a publisher beforehand.
Maybe it could be Balls of Steel? http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/balls-of-steel
Hmm, they did release some 3D realms games recently: Duke 1+2, shadow warrior complete and terminal velocity. So I could see Balls of Steel coming
I love a good pinball game but so many of them are so bad, has anyone tried the Pinball Gold pack? Also, is Evil Genius more RTS or SIM or Strategy?

I'd call it an Strategic Evil Genius Sim.

You basically build up an evil lair which is kind of like base building/city management in style. Then after that you've also got tactical control such as tagging targets for capture or attack on the island map; whilst you also have controlable hero units.

You also have a strategic world map where you deploy minions to do evil things (this is where you earn most of your game money and also gain access to new things).

It's kind of in a league of its own really - that said I think there is a demo out there (Gamershell probably has it if anywhere does).

I'd recommend a pass. While I used to love Pinball Dreams & Fantasies back in the day, they just haven't aged that well. Also, the PC ports were never that great to begin with, particularly Dreams. Lastly, there's still the case of some missing game music in Pinball Illusions.

The Pinball Pro games are really the only ones you should consider.

Think dungeon keeper, with a bit of strategic planning on a world map (select an operation, assign minions/henchmen, wait for results).

Thanks. I actually recently picked up Full Tilt which is the revamped Space Cadet table that use to come with Windows along with 2 other really nice tables. They sure as hell aren't the newest but I've yet to find any others that much fun and addictive.
I am not an RTS person, the only ones I've played more than a bit were Starcraft 1 and the first 3 Command and Conquer games, so nothing for me this weekend.

I do want to say though if the new normal for sales are themed weekends with 60% off, then that gets a thumbs up from me. When FPS weekend rolls around my wallet will take a nice hit.

TheEnigmaticT: ...
Just to be clear, at least one release next week is a classic, right? Even though you hesitated in the video, it will be a good old game? :)
Ok, I had to pick up Evil Genius, I've heard so many good things about that game and at 60% off, it's a bargain. I'm also really considering Empire Earth: Gold Edition. Any buy encouragement for that game? :)

How in the hell did the fact that the pinball game is no longer included with Windows escape my notice?

Great, now my life is incomplete.

IGNORANCE WAS BLISS YOU MONSTER!!!
I'm actually tempted to pick up that Judge Dredd game. For the low asking price it should be worth the money, even if it's perhaps not the greatest FPS ever created :)

I don't know if this is reconciliation or just further angers you, but one table from Pinball FX 2 is included with Windows 8.
