A post-crime story.

1954 Alcatraz, a Daedalic Entertainment prison break adventure where treachery meets love and morals clash with greed, is available 10% off on GOG.com. That's only $17.99 for the first week.

Joe's doing 40 years on Alcatraz for a heist on an armored truck. The loot is still hidden out there, but only Joe knows where it is. In the streets of San Francisco, Joe's ex-accomplices and his wife are eager to find the stolen money. Who will get their hands on the dough? Players will decide between love, treachery, life and death: will Joe's wife, Christine assist her husband during his prison break? Will they recover the fortune together? Or will they succumb to greed? Will Christine deceive Joe, taking revenge for all the disappointments and a marriage that brought her nothing but hardship? Will she just turn her back on Joe and hit the road with his former accomplices? Or will Joe gain everything in the end?

1954 Alcatraz, offers all what makes a great adventure: challenging puzzles, a mature crime story with a dynamic plot and various possible outcomes, and a whole bunch of shady characters: brutal felons, making life on The Rock even harder for Joe, while outside not only his partners-in-crime but also snoops and cops are after the money and Christine. The cinematic San Francisco of the 1950s, caught in a gritty comic style is a harsh place. But it's also a place where 1954: Alcatraz can pay homage to history and zeitgeist, in form of the Beatnik culture and other contemporary themes.

If you're looking for immersive plot and an envolving story with multiple endings you should check out 1954 Alcatraz, for only $17.99 on GOG.com. The 10% off release discount offer lasts until Tuesday, March 18, at 10:59AM GMT.
Isn't this a co-production with US developer Irresponsible Games? From what I've read, Daedalic only did the graphics on this one? Just saying, as only listing Daedalic as developers might provoke other expectations from fans of Deponia, The Whispered World, The Dark Eye etc. than knowing it's a co-production.

Fever_Discordia: It's always good to see a Daedalic first day release, the only Daedalic title I'm aware of that isn't here (other than hidden objects games) is 'Journey of a Roach'
http://store.steampowered.com/app/255300/
Seem a bit conspicuous by its absence though - what's the deal there? Is it just not considered good enough a game?

Crosmando: For some reason whenever I think of Alcatraz I think of that action movie with the rockets full of green balls...
You mean the one that takes place on The Rock? Nah, I can't remember the name of the film either...

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten that the Torchlight series was Daedalic! I'm always thinking that Blackguards is there first foray into RPG but, yeah, Torchlight is them too!
Saying that though Torchlight 2 is all Steamworks, especially Steam Workshop up the wazoo, apparently which explains THAT one...
I'm genuinely intrigued by the premise, but the lukewarm reception the game received from German reviewers makes me rather reluctant to buy it. Hmm...
To buy some time later.

humm yep

Journey of a Roach is a damn fine game!
Wishlisting for now, as the premise and play mechanics sound quite refreshing,

And this is the far better Alcatraz movie.

I haven't looked into Torchlight 2 much...didn't know it was all Steamworks ;(

I guess that means that the likelihood of it being here is slim for a long while to come, given that Steam integration?

At least it's easily rectified. :)

Though personally I think Cool Hand Luke and Papillon are even better prison movies. And possibly The Big Bird Cage. ;)

IAmSinistar: Papillon
greatest Alcatraz movie ever. Ever! :)
