Everybody was Kung Fu fighting!

Battle Realms + Winter of the Wolf, an oriental-themed RTS where true power can only be earned, not taken, is now available on GOG.com for only $9.99.

Sit by the fire, young nobleman, and help yourself to a goblet of jasmine tea. You are wise to come here. So many warriors before you attempted to unite this realm under their reign. They were brave and strong. They had the noble knowledge of tactics. They knew how to choose the best steel for swords. They had fists that could punch holes through stone walls. They had eyes that could spot a sneaking ninja in the middle of a cloudy night. They had hearts that knew no fear nor remorse. But none of them came to seek advice of an old man living on the mountain. And--one by one--they failed. Their power crumbled, their dreams vanished, and they lives faded. You are wise to come here, young nobleman. But this is only your first step towards the true wisdom and the true power that only comes with balance. I will teach you. But now, finish your tea and bring us some water from the spring.

Battle Realms + Winter of the Wolf is a game defined by its setting--an RTS that combines resource management, unit development, and tactical gameplay with storytelling inspired by the Kung Fu movies and oriental culture. Follow the story of a young nobleman Kenji, heir to the Dragon throne, who was exiled from his homeland and now seeks a way to regain his heritage. With unique units and many original ideas Battle Realms is a game that no RTS fan can afford to miss.

Choose your path with caution and let yourself be guided by the ancient wisdom of Zen in Battle Realms + Winter of the Wolf, for only $9.99!
Oh my bloody hell Battle Realms on gog ??? What is this madness ?! o_o

the awesomeness of that news is too strong, I can't resist... HELL YEAH 'Battle Rice' IS ON !

This is the funniest RTS I've ever played, all the unique abilities and details are so much fun to use, I highly recommend it to anyone. I did so many LANs with friends and brother on this game, always an excellent experience.

I hope there would be a demo (with 2-3 maps and a clan or two), so people could test the water before getting it, it's just a shame people would skip on it simply because they read "RTS" or haven't heard of it back then.

...

I'm a main-FPS player (played almost all relevant releases since the mid 90s), and never really loved a RTS game (even if I enjoyed Starcraft 1 and C&C series SP campaigns), especially in MP.

Battle Realms is really the one that told me "the RTS form isn't wrong in itself, it's just the RTS games that are getting it wrong", this is the only RTS I would gladly play in MP.

Hmm interesting. Never heard of this game. Graphics looks good, judging by the screenshots.
If anyone wants to play this online, Gameranger is a must. There is still a dedicated community to this game.

SpiderFromMars: Great release GOG! :)

G-Doc: The game was updated to latest official version 1.50g. It runs at 1024x768, so it looks pretty decent on widescreen displays.

EDIT:
Oh, I see you've managed to ninja out your question before I managed to answer your post. Your Kung Fu is faster than mine. :-)
The framerate issues on some recent graphic cards are still present though. The game is unplayable for me. :(

I used to own this game on CD, one of the few combat simulation/RTS games I really liked. I'm looking forward to buying this soon, and having the add-on will be great.

I hope the rest of you enjoy it as much as I did (and will).
This is one of my all-time favorite games. I am so happy it got a GOG release. It was totally unplayable on Vista/7 because the minimap wouldn't work so I haven't been able to play it for years, but this version has fixed the issue. Unfortunately, if you have a multi-monitor setup then you have to disable all the extra monitors or the game refuses to run, so I hope they fix that...but it's only an inconvenience. The game is spectacular and I recommend it even if you're not really an RTS fan. Great story and campaign and unique gameplay that leads to awesomely fun multiplayer.
