Gaunathor: How faithful are they to the novel?
Good question, but honestly I can't recall quite how close they were, or weren't. Like any Dracula adaptation seems to do, I know they take at least a few liberties, but for me I know it felt much more faithful than any other has. The first two games are effectively one huge game telling a version of the original story, split into two normal length games - I think that extra time to tell the story helps, less is cut out.

My main memory of these is that the atmosphere as you explored the castle was very evocative of Jonathan Harker's journal of his stay, which impressed me greatly. There's a good sense of exploring all the main locations from the book, and of isolation and oppression.

Just a short questions: are they game breaking puzzles there? I mean can you do something that will prevent you from winning the game?

Mmm, I wouldn't normally consider buying this but you offered very tempting deal, GOG. By the way, why doesn't the trilogy include Mac support?

Awesome, I was eying a boxed copy of the trilogy for a while, but a digital backup for this price is pretty great. I don't think there are many places offering downloads of The Resurrection or The Last Sanctuary, only one I know of are GamersGate and The Adventure Shop, both having the three games separately for a total of 40€ at full price, so great deal here it seems. The MoP approves!

Totally getting this in the hope Anuman releases more of the oldie adventures that are in their catalogue (especially the Cryo games, , the [url=http://www.mobygames.com/game-group/egypt-series]Egypt series, Salammbo, oh I could go on and on, spare me the trouble Anuman and/or gog, please!)

whatss'up with the stupid troll reviewers on gog ? One contradicting the other -__- ? Can't we get a descent review of the games (the triology + dracula 4 ) ?

I remember these!

They were pretty pants.

The first one had problems with the cutscenes cutting out unless it's been fixed. The second one has the timed monster puzzles, and the third one had that analyse a blood test puzzle which is great if your a doctor... I might dig out the disc's if I can find them.

These are long overdue to GOG. What a great deal to introduce them!

I can't speak to the 4th game, but the first 1 was a very good adventure game. Nothing ground breaking (other than some NPC visual details that were very good for the time), but very good all the same. I haven't read the books, so I just went in expecting a story about Dracula. It was very enjoyable. The next two weren't bad either, but if I remember correctly, the first one was the best. Haven't played 4 yet, so this is a super terrific deal for me. 3 digital backups of some great adventure games and a brand new one for one tiny price.

If it helps, these were some of the better Dreamcatcher games before Painkiller came along. IMHO, any adventure fans would enjoy these. (ymmv)

Have to agree there. The troll reviewer just seems to do a meaningless contradiction of one user who posted a review for both the Dracula trilogy and Dracula 4.
