The greatest darkness lies in the devious soul.

[url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/dracula_trilogy]Dracula Trilogy is available FOR FREE for the next five days, with every purchase of Dracula 4: Shadow of the Dragon. It contains the first three games in the horror adventure series based upon Bram Stoker's creations: Dracula: The Resurrection, Dracula: The Last Sanctuary, and Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon. Once the Dracula 4: Shadow of the Dragon launch promo ends on GOG.com on Sunday, July 14, at 9:59AM GMT, Dracula Trilogy will be available for the regular price of $9.99.

Dracula Trilogy continues the story told by Bram Stoker in his original novel. The first two games take place immediately after the events depicted in the book, focusing on Jonathan Harker's attempts to win back his wife Mina, who has fallen under the vampire's seductive curse. The third one takes us forward in time, as we follow a metaphysical investigation in Transylvania, soon after the first World War. With unnerving atmosphere, suggestive visuals, enthralling story, and many challenging puzzles, these adventure games bring us a perfect mix of horror and mystery.

You can get Dracula Trilogy for only $9.99 on GOG.com, but you can also receive it absolutely free with your purchase of Dracula 4: Shadow of the Dragon, the fourth thrilling installment of the series. This amazing offer will only last until Sunday, July 14, at 9:59AM GMT, so don't miss out!

staticblast: While I won't speak to the quality of the games themselves, the attached picture is just sad.

Reviews aren't the place for poor attempts at a joke, people! This isn't Amazon. If you think a review is inaccurate, let the "helpful" vote mechanism do its job and write out a proper review explaining your POV on the product.

Just inverting a review for laughs is just one more reason why we should have a way to report reviews.

Telika: I disagree. This had made me laugh, and it's just one way to say "i love this game" and "i hate this game". The infos are that someone liked all these aspects, someone else disliked them all. The form of expression was fun, and the information would have been the same if the form had been boring.

So.
You're assuming that the second person thought it was terribad. For all we know, he simply made a cheap gag. That defeats the purpose of the reviews, which is to inform potential buyers about the quality of the product. If you can't trust that reviewers are being serious then reviews become utterly useless.

My answer got lost but :

Yes, I assume this. I presume the author actually disliked the series, and isn't just hopping from gamecard to gamecard to write symetrical reviews.

Also, the games have received very bad critics (as well as good ones), so this makes his dislike credible. Actually, the caricatural contrast between these symetrical reviews does seem pretty representative of the strong critical disagreements in third-party reviews about these games.

Its a horrible "review" (and I put that in quotes because it isn't a review at all). The forums are the place to make you laugh. If he wants to create a funny review, he can do that too... without being useless. The review he mocked is also bad. Reviews without details are useless. If you just want to say that the game was fun or bad... use the forums. If you want to REVIEW a game... actually review it. I could have posted a "review" that said I ate a bologna sandwich last night and it would have been equally as useful. I think you are confusing the ability to write a humorous and detailed (read, helpful) review and just being a tool and using the wrong venue to boot.
Seems fair and decent score to me. Never mind about the stars, they highlighted the pros and cons equally. User's inputs are pretty insightful as well, though it is still a subjective matter. I take it the series isn't grand and epic but it doesn't seems that bad either.

Okay, but that's not a particularly horrible "review". Not worse than the one it mocks. And, on the same levels as reviews in general. This is, in my eyes, another, more general question (how to make actual relevant reviews), but I don't think that this one must be singled out more than others "i hated that game" or "aah at last, i've waited for so long" reviews.

And keck, at least we assume that both authors liked/disliked all the listed aspects of the game. That's already, hm, something...
I actually have something in common with the original book "Dracula" but it's neither funny nor interesting so I'll shut up about it.

grviper: Those can bend in the opposite direction, praising utter crap just because it "fills a niche".
Yeah, I tend to find adventure dedicated sites giving high praise to average games just because new games in the genre were thin on the ground.

Let me guess... You suck? :P

Okay, two things.

Awww man, I just got that 181st point, now it's gone. :( We didn't really even have a chance to get to know each other and "Bam!" Torn apart. I feel so Romeo, so Juliet, so Bride of Chucky.

Rep points are like slaves... they die too fast...

Don't trust the gaming media. If they don't get a big fat endorsement they slam whatever game it is they're reviewing (generally).
Also, they'll usually prevent you from enjoying things. Enjoying things is good.

Ha!
I've decided to pass. After all my backlog is still ~150 games and a lot of p&c adventures there so there is no need too buy yet another one (not to mention that with the current deal that would be 4. Or at least 3.5 considering the length of the las one). But I'm still very happy because this release kinda reminded me that I have to finish Phanasmagoria. I played it month or so ago and got stuck in Chapter 5. But today I had no problem to beat it. Well, except for the last chapter but I guess it was meant that you would have problems there. A lot of problem to be exact ;) I don't know why but I was humming this song while playing the last chapter ;)
Any particular reason there's no Win XP compatability?
I mean the games are from 1999 - 2008, so should run well on Win XP, no?

Plus, I have the Trilogy on DVD and I've played the first one on my Win XP system.
Is the GOG release different than the DVD one?
