A fast-paced roguelike-like old-school medium-core single-serving first-person gun-shooter. WHAT?!

Tower of Guns, a first person shooter in which you storm a enemy-filled tower that is randomized to offer a different experience with each exciting play-through, is available 33% off on GOG.com. That's only $9.99 for the first week!

Once upon a time in the Wild West there lived an engineer who harnessed the power of steam to construct giant contraptions that would reign terror upon the simple folk. The engineer kidnapped the mayor's beautiful daughter and built a giant tower full of traps and dangerous automatons so he could lock her up on the top floor. You are the county sheriff and your task is to storm the tower and ask the mayor's daughter for her dad's favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Grab the sandwich, leave the damsel, get back down and feed the hungry mayor. Yup. That's totally your mission here. Sounds random? Well, to tell you the truth, that's not the actual story in this game. But it might just as well be!

Tower of Guns is a game designed to give you a full single-serving FPS experience everytime you play it. Each floor of the tower you'll be attempting to capture consists of a random set of predefined rooms, populated with different setup of enemies, loot, and power-ups. The game also offers many different combinations of weapons and character perks, adding special flavor to every play. Even the narrative is selected at random, so the backstory can have you follow strict orders from your commanding officer just to make you into a delivery boy with an important package the next time around. The silly dialog is well in sync with the game's humorous tone that makes everything from the descriptions of your guns down to the names of bosses into a lighthearted joke. All that comes with somewhat cartoonish graphics, some quirky puzzles, and zany gameplay ideas. The game can prove to be challenging and may force you to dust off your old-school shooter skills, like circular strafing and bunny-hopping. Be warned, though described as a "lunch-break" type of game, beating the tower takes up to an hour, so make sure you've got some time left to actually eat your lunch. Or better yet, try not to play it in your lunch break at all. It's too fun and addictive to put down, and it could ruin your productivity for the day!

Master the art and science of gunslinging while tower-running in the endless cannonade brought to you by the Tower of Guns, for only $9.99 on GOG.com. The 33% off special release discount offer lasts until Tuesday, March 11, at 10:59AM GMT.
Oh hell yeah I am always up for a mindless shooter. Looks like a good after work game for winding down.
Hi, I saw this game before it came to Gog and I was really interested in it. So when I saw it on Gog I was happy. Sadly I am kind of a noob with computers and I am not sure if my laptop will be able to run this game. I checked on game-debate, but this game is not listed. :( My question is, if I buy this game and it ends up not working on my laptop, will I be able to get a refund? Thanks for reading!

GOG has a 30 day money back guarantee if a game does not work for you:

http://www.gog.com/support/website_help/money_back_guarantee

Contact support to see if they can help you, if you run into any problems, and if they can't help GOG will refund you and remove the game from your account.

Hope that helps :)

Also, I'm sure the GOG community, if you post in the General Discussion forum and have a constructive question, will gladly help you learn the ropes when it comes to computer gaming, and maybe even computers in general. You'll be surprised at how helpful they can be!

Possibly, it worked very good on that machine, and it was before it was optimised and had any graphic options except reducing screensize. It is actually not a very demanding game, due to how it works by battling in small rooms (except when many bullets fly around...) so I think yours should be able to handle it also.

I'll get it, like Jinsei said, if it doesn't work I could always get a refund. Thanks for the help and +1 to both of you!
This looks like a cool release for all FPS lovers, but then again I have not played it and as it is not my cup of tea it will be a while before that happens. Still, FPS fans: enjoy!
Well, this is pretty fun. It could have been a little more polished, shinier and more varied (the enemy types, room types, weapons, perks, items etc are all rather limited and the various upgrades aren't quite hard hitting) for the asking price but I can't complain as it's good fun regardless. It definitely feels old school. Not Doom old school, instead something that could have been released alongside Quake III and Unreal Tournament, but of course this is a single player game, not an arena shooter. At the same time it doesn't feel like a copy cat or a rip off of anything else and does new things that fit the style well. I've tried some other "roguelike FPS" games that appeared recently and I feel this is the most fun and overall well made of the bunch, although the others may each do one or another element better. I hope the sales enable them to do a sequel while also contracting additional staff to improve the aspects it is most lacking in and maybe add co-op.

JudasIscariot: That was/is a pre-order price. The price of the game after the discount is over will be $14.99 on GOG.

blankslatejoe: Hi guys! Dev here. The price on www.towerofguns.com is only $9.50 until..well...the Humble guys get in to their office and push the final 1.0 update. Right now that pre-order would gain you access to the old .78 build. The Humble guys are on West Coast USA time, so that should be in about 50 minutes, around the same time the Steam sales will open, assuming all goes well. The price should then raise to 14.99 with the 33% discount as well across all the various vendors. My apologies for the confusion.
Tower of Guns looks really cool! The random room feature looks especially interesting. Congrats on your GOG game release!
Wow...thanks so much guys! You guys are a pretty welcoming bunch! I'm glad the game plays pretty well for you guys--I had a pretty distinct goal in mind when I made the game of what I wanted to build and seems like that seems to come across pretty well. So thanks! :-)
FTL and DOOM 2 were mentioned in the description. I think I must own this.

Thank you for posting here, and for creating Tower of Guns!
Got a little queasy watching that video linked on the first page - just like Doom did to me back in the day.

So, uh, instabuy!
