micktiegs_8: That's kind of what I was trying to say, maybe hide the game from the public until the most important issues are fixed. I too wanted to buy the game but I cannot afford to drop the money and not be able to play it properly soon after.

CharlesGrey: A shame really, since it sounds like such a cool concept/ genre-mix. I wonder what went wrong. But if the reviews are to be trusted, then they really shouldn't have released it in its current state. :(

Are there any people here who bought a copy and are actually happy with the game and didn't encounter any game-breaking bugs... ?
I bought it and the gameplay is pretty enjoyable, however I'm kind of afraid to sink time into it until some of the bugs are fixed. I encountered a bug in which every time I'd load a game my character would be renamed 'Duke Wyndwalker' in the stats screen. I made five characters and this happened with every one.
What is up with all the side-scrollers lately? I feel like we've had quite a few.

Interesting premise. I just can't stand the look.

I think they are a popular Indie theme, because the genre got neglected by AAA companies for years despite plenty of room left to expand it and they are significantly easier to make than fully 3D games.

Anyone who played those kinds of games around at the time of the Megaman/Mario/Sonic series & al. on the NES, SNES and Sega Genesis will have an affinity for the genre. It was a huge thing then and probably the most prominent genre for a time.

I could see why newer generations might have an harder time "getting it" though. I think it's partly a generational thing (though I'm writing that and I have no idea how old you are ;).
