grviper: So, when are they re-making TekWar?
You just made me violently vomit all over.

jamyskis: That, and with the new anti-IP spoofing provision in the SSA, means that anyone in Germany with this game runs the risk of having their account closed down.
Yeah, I will take that risk.
I honestly don't know why you people are so exited about this. The original ROTT was pretty poorly done game and this remake looks like it's going down the same road. Only thing it had going for it was some kind of illusion of enemy AI, but the level design and gameplay were both poor.

hedwards: Seems kind of odd considering the other games that are available, but whatever, indexing games is always weird. I wasn't sure if I had forgotten about some of the Wolf assets that may have been left in the game.
It's the "people begging for their lives" that will get it probably even banned here. It is deemed not cool for a country whose favourite past time for 12 years was putting people against the wall and executing them.

(The actual point was, that shooting those was mandatory, because other they would just attack you again)

Um, the gameplay was the same as almost every other big shooter at that time. Key hunt and blow people away. RoTT was different though because it had lots of dark humor and wacky things going on. It never ever took itself seriously.

Also the Deathmatch was some of the best.

RoTT had MP and rocket jumps, but the SP campaign (including the shareware maps) steadily went downhill.

I'd forgotten about that.

but it's a moot point as it's not likely to be released anywhere. Duke Nukem: Reloaded has been on hold for a while and none of the previous projects the developer has worked on have ever seen the light of day. DNR had the most promise as it had official permission.

Snickersnack: DOOM came out at least a year before RotT. :/
*facepalm*
I looked it up. You're right, of course. For some reason, I thought that it released a little before Doom did.

I suppose, then, it's more accurate to say it's my favorite mid-90s non-Doom FPS.

In some ways it was gimmicky, but I think that's part of its charm. It also had some fantastic music, clever level designs, loads of content, and a ton of personality. Plus, to someone like me, the ways that it upgraded the Wolf3d engine.

And dog mode. Never forget dog mode.
They posted a holiday-themed trailer. Not much new to see, but still neat.
