LordRikerQ: I was wondering if theres any talk about getting Silent Hill games on here? They made 2,3 and 4 for PC however they are incredibly rare and cost a fortune, I wish GOG would get them, they are classics.
I've contacted Konami once about that issue, and they said to me, Konami has no interest in re-releasing Silent Hill games on PC anytime soon. Or ever.

Just dash all our hopes, will ya? Well, it might be a fruitless endeavor but I'm still going to hold out that Konami will get their head out of their asses long enough to do something redeeming for their company... like bringing digital copies of Silent Hill to PC or fixing their trainwreck of an HD Collection they just released.
You can still hope, because it was just some Konami employee who was responding people's emails. Such people often do not know most of the decisions made on top.

But looking how Konami doesn't give rat's ass about Europe or america and ESPECIALLY PC gaming in Europe or America, I wouldn't have much hope.
Good point, PR people that deal with emails usually seem to be out of the loop whenever I need to contact them. Sadly their PC titles/ports haven't been the greatest lately (admittedly, I haven't played the Rocket Knight game, but SH: Homecoming had its issues).

I'm gonna continue with my hopeless wishes that they change for the better and realize how badly they are treating their consumers, their brand, and basically anything they touch nowadays.

Can't really blame them for that, modern PC gaming in the West is the absolute pits.

I coulcn't agree with that. Modern PC gaming is rather concentrated on digital distribution, and there's plenty of money to earn.

Konami is not interested in making more money, this is why Konami is not developing at all lately. They're standing in the same spot they were 5 years ago, which means Konami is 5 years behind the competition.

Their choice. There wouldn't be much trouble to re-release old Silent Hill games on steam (i don't know if they're compatible with 64 bit systems, though) and make some money.

But Japanese market is almost entirely focused on consoles (and Playstation 3, Vita, 3DS), and maybe this is why Konami doesn't give a damn about PC gaming - they don't even know such thing exists.

Actually, I just started playing SH2&3 on my pc not too long ago (Win7 Pro x64), and they work surprisingly well still. Which makes it all the more confusing as to why they haven't jumped on the Digital Distribution bandwagon and made these classics available again (for a reasonable price).

Agreed about the Japanese market possibly being a/the reason why PC Konami won't re-release their PC games for people's convenience; a console-based market with very few PC games coming out from them in recent years would make them think twice, if at all, about making a move like that.

I wasn't even referring to digital distribution, games could still be being sold as physical copies exclusively, it wouldn't change the fact that the content is crap.

Apart from the odd indie title, I can't even think of a PC game that has been made in say the last 8 or so years which is worth buying.

Konami probably don't want to become a PC-game company because they are interested in making good games over making money, and they have seen what has happened to many, many US-based companies which made good games in the late 90's or around 2000, when they were just a bunch of a few creative minds in a room with a computer, and are now million-dollar companies. They produce rubbish.

The worst thing Konami could do is stop being a video game developer, and start being just a publisher, outsourcing development to some no-name company.

that's a bit of an overstatement

With all due respect have you seen the HD collection?

When I first heard the rumors of an Collection I was thrilled, but after playing I discovered it's not a collection. It's not a re-release. It's not even an upgrade from the PS2/PC versions. It's just a remake to make earn more money. Nothing else.
At least Pro Evolution Soccer still available for PC. One of my favourite.

Well, that makes me sad.

Also, for all the people here defending Konami, take a look at the lastest episode of Jimquisiion on the Escapist. I personally don't like the guy but he makes some very good points on the video.
Is there any chance that Silent Hill 2,3,4 would appear here? I was planning to buy the Silent Hill HD Collection for the PS3, but i cancelled my order after seeing what they did for the ports.

Wait, they did???

MUST HAVE!

The only reason I haven't played teh Silent Hill games until now is because I don't have a Playstation of any generation.
I made the decision to get the HD collection and say fuck it, the ps3 version is pacthed ok from what I have seen in youtube.
