That "Digital Deluxe" copy can choke on my wang.

It's £15's worth of launch-day DLC, nothing more, and nothing less. It's not even good DLC, it's just 5 cosmetic items.

They should rename it "Gullible Mug Edition".

Does anybody else mourn the days when Bioware used to put their hearts into putting out the best, most complete game they possibly could, given their budget and the time they had?
Well, sorry for Aussie and Asian GOG friends, but you won't be getting SWTOR at launch. Not that you should, but The Principle of it...

Well, really, the company name is the same but the staff is mostly different from the people who brought us the Baldur's Gate saga and SW:KOTOR. I tend to feel that the Bioware of today would feel much more comfortable making movies in Holywood than games.
Agreed

F2P, maybe
Monthly fee : no way
F2P in 1 year : not with all other players at level 26 with powerful equipment
I don’t think it will fail that early give it 4 years then it will be free to play … there are way too many SW fans that don’t care if they pay to play besides if they but a good story behind it like they did in mass effect and Baldur's Gate people will pay
I won't be playing, I just want it to launch already... something bad happens when you launch the hype too early...

Did they make a new company or were they "swept under the rug,"?
Got it. Wasn't going to, but youtube, Ars Technica and some forum comments changed my mind. I have 3 weeks to play before I leave for my overseas job... probably stupid. I regretted it a lot right after purchasing.

That said... awesome game so far! I am basically playing it as KotOR 3, and it's fully functional. The main story is great, the context for every quest is really what makes it shine. I disliked MMOs because there was no semblance of context, but now it's as contextual as a singleplayer game.

It really is WoW with a story though.

And lasers
And robots
And wookiees
And spaceships

But story is the most important thing. What are you playing & what server?

Sith agent, gonna choose sniper. I think it was Ki-Ta Kren server that I eventually chose. One of the "light" ones because I never want to face a queue ever and probably won't play with others too often. I do want to try some dungeons and stuff though, so I will have to group eventually.

If anyone here in the US wants to choose that server and send me a message I would not mind teaming up for some dungeons.
Holocam is a ripoff. :D

What does it do? Anything at all?
I'll probably pick it up next month (if I have any cash) so I can kill time till TSW launches

Was the part of the collector's thing? I was like "okay $20 for... what? Some items?" Pretty hilarious if anyone bought it.

I suggest you have a lot of spare time before you join one. At least my experience from the beta was that they take way longer than dungeons in most other MMOs, even if you're above the recommended amount of party members.
I really think it took me 3 hours to clear the very first dungeon in a 4 man group (and the dungeon was even advertised as a 2 man dungeon). It was pretty fun though, and I like the way they did the group conversations.

I'm not playing currently, but I think one of my friends is getting it for me for Christmas. He's been asking me to join him for a while now, but I told him I didn't want to pay that much for the game as there are better and cheaper games I'd rather pay for.
