amok: For those of you who are disappointed - it seems that Syndicate is getting a spiritual successor, if not a direct one, called Cartel: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/09/21/paradox-announce-cartel-interview/
I like Paradox more and more.
At first they were too hardcore for me with games like Hearts of Iron, but having played Magicka, Elven Legacy, Majesty 2 and King Arthur I'm looking forward to every new game they publish.
Paradox is a company I want to support more but they don't really make any games I want to play. Thought that pirate one would do it, but alas no, the demo was terrible. Here's hoping this Cartel is better.
The Big Suck.

Now I want the original on GOG even more...

cw8: I'll wait for Paradox's version.
Rock Paper Shotgun has an interview about it.

Paradox sound like they know what they're doing. Not sure about the name though. But I can look past that if the game is half of what they're talking about here.

StingingVelvet: You really wonder why they antagonize people with the "time has moved on" crap. One of last year's biggest titles, if not THE biggest title, was overhead strategy game Starcraft 2. There is no "moved on" from strategy or the isometric perspective.

That said I am greatly looking forward to this game, I think it could be awesome. I don't know why the name of it means anything.
More to the point, Starcraft 2 was just Starcraft chucked under CSI's 'makes everything more detailed' photocopier.

Add to that the fact that Starcraft was already looking out of date on release (Total Annihilation was released a year beforehand) and you're left with no doubt that the market hasn't moved an inch. It's the industry that has moved and in the direction of kowtowing to the demands of foul mouthed 8 year old console kiddies with severe entitlement complexes.

The entire "Syndicate revival" operation is a disgusting piece of shit, imho.
First reviews are in and guess what, it's another mediocre corridor shooter.

Thank you EA.
