morciu: are you premium or free to play?
Since I've no idea, I guess that means free to play :/
avatar
gameon: What does this mean? Are we able to sell games we don't want in our steam library?
no, you can not sell used games at least. It is mostly for in-game artefacts, DOTA2 and TF2 at the moment.

And steam inventory it seems.

I see. It's interesting nevertheless. The start of the digital "second hand" market perhaps.

well that's the problem i guess, free to play accounts have small inventories and can't trade most of their items
avatar
JMich: No, the items are tradeable for others, my items are not. I haven't done anything with TF2, other than install, enter to spawn the items and uninstall it, thus probably the reason for that. My question is what can I do to make the items tradeable.
Some items can't be sold for money, I believe, even though they can be exchanged item per item. (I have that for hat and holy hand grenade from worms)

So the question becomes, what is the best/cheapest way to be able to trade those items?

the cheapest way is to become a premium account, that means buying something from the mann co store, you can buy something cheap (cheapest item is 30 or 40 cents i think), then you can use the game to idle over night once a week. It can get really profitable, I had a friend that got some rare crate worth 10 keys or something like that from his first idles. You just need to get lucky

not sure, digital market - yes, but not second hand at all. It is the next extension of micro-transactions, really, same as with Blizz and the auction-houses in Diablo III.

Edit- meaning that you can not sell second hand goods, but goods not yet "used" i.e. linked to an account.

In which case you probably need a premium account, which means purchasing something in game via the Steam wallet. Unless things have changed, that means you must put a minimum of $5 into the wallet as that's smallest amount you can add.

And thank you too
WOW gold farmers = Diablo III gold farmers = TF2 item farmers

Not entirely the same as the only thing you can farm is metal/hats, and those mostly get their value decided by things like TF2 keys etc, which can only be bought. So more metal means it's worth less.

Still possible though yeah, just takes a crapload of accounts to make a dent :)

well i don't mind being called an item farmer, once a night every week doesn't really get in my way and i got a few nice games from it.
