Seems like steam wants a piece of the pie (5% for steam inventory, 10% for TF2 and Dota2 items atm), thus it has started the Steam Market.

Let's see how this works out for them (and us).
I've made around 3-4 euros so far in this market thing
What does this mean? Are we able to sell games we don't want in our steam library?
I made 2,5€ this winter on selling naughty crates for TF2.
Bit late, Steam market's been around for a while already. Sold like 350 euro in TF2 keys by now I think which is pretty nice. A good way to keep the Steam wallet stocked. There's currently a limit of 200 items sold though, which will severely limit it's use if it stays there. They need to figure out if Tax laws apply first before they can remove it.

How do you make profit with keys?
Only thing that comes to mind is to stock up during a MannCo sale.

Keys never go on sale I think, it's trading other stuff and turning that into keys mostly. With just keys there's very little chance of turning a profit. I sold some games on steam for keys for instance during the winter sale, mostly the ones that were cheaper in the EU (barely any ...)

Interesting, though I only found out about it today. When did they roll it out?

Not sure exactly but somewhere before the last Winter sale at least, maybe beginning of December. They only just now added the Steam Inventory part though, wasn't there a day or so ago.

Ah, so that's the reason I hadn't seen it before, thank you.

On a semi-related issue, any idea what is required for a TF2 pre-order item to become tradable? Game has been released, it is a bit more than 2 months (I think) since it got added to my inventory, but it still says "not tradable" :/

Be very wary of scams/dishonest listings. Someone put up several crates or sommat for 0.50 then one for 50.00. Someone bought all 4 of them assuming they were paying 0.50 for each. Valve refused to help when they noticed.
Selling DOTA2 for €0.02 seems to be the rite of passage of this thing.

Usually they have to patch it, sometimes it takes a long time though, 2 months seems particularly long though.

No, the items are tradeable for others, my items are not. I haven't done anything with TF2, other than install, enter to spawn the items and uninstall it, thus probably the reason for that. My question is what can I do to make the items tradeable.
