And in that theme, if somethings isn't discounted currently at all, does that mean it won't be, or can it still become a daily/flash?

StingingVelvet: I really don't plan on buying anything. I have pretty much every game I could want. That feels depressing but I guess it's a good thing.
You just need to look into some more games, like http://store.steampowered.com/app/35070/

:p

That's some hot shit right there.

nijuu: Will anything that is already 75% off go for a deeper discount at all?
At this point, we have no clue. The safest option is to wait for the daily deal, flash sale, or get it on the last day

I don't think that's a thing that happens. 75% and above you're usually clear to buy at your leisure, 66% has a slim chance of getting that bump though, so it's best to wait for those.

Depends on when it was released. If it's old then there's no intention of discounting it, if it's new there's still a chance that it will go 12,5% off or, God willing, 25%. I think that happened with Assassin's Creed 3 during the winter sale last year.

Put it in your wishlist, and Steam (should) inform you when they have it on sale. (Ninjaedit: Don't bother, many have pointed out that it doesn't work.)

Look it up on isthereanydeal, look up other games from that publisher, and get a feel for their strategy.

Thanks for this one. I really liked the airplane parts of Sonic Allstar Racing Transformed lately and this seems to be just that.

To anyone who has played the Alien vs Predator game, which do you recommend: the 2000 one or the new one?

And is the first Kane and Lynch any good?

SovietSharkey: Want Defiance but on very limited budget until I get paid next week
To be honest thought these first day deals are either games I own are kind of overall meh deals
Also Toki Tori 2 came out either today or yesterday and is already on sale is a big moment to think "Screw you" to the developers
LA Noire went on a 40% discount ONE WEEK after release. And that's a AAA title, not an indie.
Borderlands 2 won the first gamers' choice vote. I was heavily tempted to get the Season Pass, currently on sale for ~$10 USD, but honestly... I don't know when I'll get around to BL2.

Hrmm.

The first Kane and Lynch is very good, if you like third person shooters.

Wouldnt rely on Steam informing... if it works they are anywhere up to 8-10 hours later...

Probably not. It's extremely rare to get a discount deeper than 75% unless it's a bundle or something.

By the time a game gets to that point, it generally reduces the base price instead. People get skeptical at 90% off, and more skeptical when a plainly old game thinks it can wear a $60 debutante MSRP.

Ive only ever seen 80-90% a handful of times, and they were on very old games, or uber cheap indies. hmmmmmm

Oh my god! Shut up and take my money!!!!! :D
Ah, found a game that is actually not a bad price and one I wanted for a while. Dirt 3.

But shall I jump the gun now since it's only £5, or wait if it goes to 75% off?.

Have they been cases where steep discounted games went a (tiny) bit cheaper??
