You could always try to trade the coupons for coal (or even games).
Though I confess that I doubt you'd get anybody offering you something for the Valve one (I'm stuck with the same 33% off for Valve :p).
I wonder when the first trading thread for coupons is about to appear on the steam forum (or even here on GOG?)....

As long it doesn't interfere with my chat servers, I don't care really what steam does. It pisses me off that my chats are always interupted every 10 minutes because servers are overloading.

I've got 50% off valve games on a sale that already has them 50% off. This is only good if you have no money throughout december.

I didn't see any achievement that would be earned on a server meant specifically for chatting (and thus there shouldn't be any reason for the contest to interfere with your gaming experience other than eventually more people obtaining the game through gifts).

All I got was 50% of a Valve game, which given there system can see I have virtually all of them (bar Left for Dead) its kind of pointless for me.

Dunno, but you know, everytime you loose connection to the server, disconnected for like 5 minutes, only to be online again for like 2-5 minutes. Happenes to the last discount xmas week.

I got a 50% discount coupon for Valve games and another one for Supreme Commander 2. I won't use either because even if I wanted to buy any of those games they are going to be much cheaper during the sale =/

There's one thing I'm not getting though.
The developer seem to be allowed to include the achivement in their demo (it's been reported to have happened on purpose at least once), but a lot of developers look like they don't want to take this chance ( http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=27070197&postcount=9 ). Why on earth is that? It'd seem MUCH more useful for a developer if people play their DEMO the day the game is on discount, because they MIGHT get one or three people from that to purchase the game that had no intention otherwise. I can't see what they'd lose, but only what they could win.

I still can't see my Steam inventory.... :(
