E3 is on it’s dawn. Lots’ of new things announced but we’d like to remind you about some Good Old Games you can play right now.
This week’s weekend promo is all about Strategy First catalogue, and we're putting a flat 50% off rebate on all titles, that includes cream of the crop turn based strategies like for example the [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/jagged_alliance_2]Alliance . If you’re not a fan of squad based mercenary action, take a look at [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/disciples_2_gold]both of the Disciples titles. If the fantasy world is what you like but you're more of a direct person check out Sacred Gold, action RPG with an engaging story line.
After defeating various beasts and monsters maybe chill in your own spaceship ? Darkstar One is a space adventure sim.

Maybe you’re looking for a more managerial approach, if yes we’ve got something right for you.
You can choose from a more medieval setting in Patrician 3 or Port Royale 2.

After all of that serious stuff with those games, maybe kick back on your chair and enjoy some arcade madness with this series of [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/pro_pinball_fantastic_journey]Pinball ! Or just smash someone to bits in [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/flatout]FlatOut, a thrilling racer with fully destructible cars and environments ;)

For the full listing of all games including (simulations like Apache vs. Havoc see the promo page).
Which one of the pinball ones is the best? The big race USA doesn't look as pretty as the rest but I take it it has other redeeming qualities?

Also, can I play Darkstar one with the keyboard and still enjoy it? I haven't played the freespace games yet because I can't make it past the tutorial trying to not lose my mind using just mouse and keyboard. Spending 30 bucks on a joystick to play a 10 dollar game seems counterproductive to me.
Combat Chess
Patrician 3
Port Royale 2
are on my wish list .

Few years ago I purchased my Wingman for PLN 100 (ca. $30) to play STARLANCER that I purchased on promo in Media Markt for PLN 5 ($1.5) :-P

wlmiv: NNNOOOOO! I was going to save money this weekend and then GOG did this to me. I have to pull the trigger on Disciples II, Jagged Alliance II, and Patrician 3. I'm also looking at Port Royale 2 and Flatout. Looking at Port Royale 2 it seems like it might be pretty similar to Sid Meier's Pirates, is that accurate? If so is there a reason I should still look at Port Royale 2 (I have Pirates currently).

Magnitus: Haven't played it yet, but I read this review years back and it made me take note of the game:

Hopefully, it will be of some help to you in making a decision.
Interesting...though Port Royale 1 did get a higher review than the sequel.

EDIT: Picked up JA1 & JA2

Can someone confirm if Jagged Alliance Deadly Games works on a Windwos 7 (64 bit) System? I bought the original JA (not through GOG) and it didn't work on my system (and no solution was offered to make it work).
I used to have a hard copy of JA Deadly Games, and I loved that game. I would really like to get if again, but first I would like to make sure it works. The page info doesn't list Windows 7, so that it why I am wondering if someone can confirm it or not (someone who actually is running it on Windows 7).
I appreciate it.

BTW, Awesome sale GOG!!!!
Hmmm, have not heard or are interested in most of these. Good news is it frees up $$$ for some of the EA games just released!
Wow, nice promo, 50% off lots of games and no "up to"!

Too bad I already own all the games I that really want from that list.

Sure, I can confirm that for you. I've run all of the JA games from GOG here on a Win7 desktop (AMD quad core, 8GB RAM), a Win7 laptop (AMD dual-core, 4GB RAM), and the Little Notebook That Could (Win7 at the moment, intel celeron, 1GB RAM).

Doesn't run well on the celeron, but the O/S will hardly load so it's not the games' fault.
Anything good on this list that you think could even be enjoyed by players like me who usually aren't into Strategy and Simulation?

I remember having some fun with a demo of one of the Disciples titles back in the days but I don't remember if it was 1 or 2 ...

On the other hand, I bought but didn't really play King's Bounty and Age of Wonders (didn't like KB and it was too slow on my PC; actually liked the layout of AoW but found it hard to get into because of the aggressive and tough opponents; with this and TOEE it seems I'm always having more fun with the tutorials than the actual game ... ;) ).

Awesome! I appreciate the response (my wallet doesn't, but I do!).

Sacred Gold is a pretty fun Diablo-clone

I personally loved the Disciples titles - if I were to recommend one of them, it would be Disciples 2. Also - I happen to agree with you about AoW, and I also had a hard time getting into Kings Bounty - at FIRST. However, I discovered that my problem was that I started with a warrior, which is a very boring choice (I usually try playing RPGs as a warrior for my first go-around because the gameplay tends to be more straight-forward). If you ever decide to try it again, play as a Paladin - the addition of some magic REALLY improves the gameplay. Once I got going with KB, I absolutely LOVED it.
Oh man. I'm gonna have to go into town and get my disposable debit card reloaded! Patrician 3 and Port Royale 2 have been on my wishlist. And I'm already itching to get Alpha Centauri!
@GoG: Please use apostrophes correctly, there's always an "it's" mistake in these news posts.
what type of game is Ghost Master? Is it any good?

that one looks kind of interesting...
