So, just a heads up for those that pre-ordered directly from Telltale; it's still not released on their site yet. I think you can still pre-order there. No idea WTF is going on atm, or when it's going to be released.
Apparently they are still working on it.

[QUOTE=Mike]Another update: we're probably not going to get our server issue fixed tonight. However, we're working right now to get Steam codes mailed out to any of you that pre-ordered the game through us. They'll be going out ASAP, so keep an eye on your email!
Again, we profusely apologize for the delay and any frustration this may have caused. We appreciate your patience, and your passion for the game.

For those that pre-ordered from TT you will get Steam keys to hold you over until the sever issues resolved. Could I have been more prophetic when I mentioned the ensuing shitstorm this morning? :D

Just got my free steam key.
>im okay with this
So now I got to buy directly from telltale, get the "almost everything pack" and downloads through steam aren't counted by my ISP.
Also it seems like the steam code is for the whole series, not just the first episode. So woo.

So better than Jurrassic Park, good story for the most part, awful mouse+keyboard controls (basically analog controller emulation) and sound compression.

It's also apparently got some pretty glaring bugs. Not enough to make it a total dealbreaker, but enough to give people reason to hold off from purchasing now. Apparently though it's almost good enough to make up for the sins of Jurassic Park and to a lesser extent, Back to the Future. Almost.

I haven't bought it by myself, but my friend, who was even a bigger fan of TWD bought it and...
1. Very good story
2. Choices made throughout the game impacts on the way you are perceived by others (not sure what difference does it make, none big in 1st episode
3. god damn short episode. finished in like 1,5 hours
4. Based only on QTE and finding hidden objects
5. Low quality audio
But I would say the story is good enough to pay for it. Not sure if it's good enough to pay full price. I will buy it on discount.
Oh, another thing. Telltale game studios believe women are dumb as hell, don't know how to put batteries inside a radio
I'd buy it know, if it was possible to pay for single episodes as they come out.

Just wanted to ask in this topic without reading it too much in case of spoilers.
Is this game set apart from the series on TV? Will I be spoiling myself if I play the game?

No, it is more based on the comic than the tv series. Also, the events occur before the event of the comic (not sure about the tv) but there are some connections (characters).
At least that's what I've read.
