Stalker on GOG? That would be cool, never played the games before...

Epitaph666: Edit : Oh but STALKER cannot be considered a "Classic Release"! It's from 2007!

Grargar: Enigmatic Hints have never been exclusively about old games. There have been Enigmatic Hints for both Flatout 2 and Goodbye Deponia. (and probably more that I can't currently remember)
IIRC the name was changed to 'Enigmatic Hint' from 'Classic Hint' after they hinted 2 Worlds 2 and people complained...

Iain: I think it could be either Nocturne of Blair Witch.

That small video is very similar to the intro on Nocturne with the way the Police are dressed on the Nocturne intro, same kind of era with the Military uniforms, it has a very similar vibe to it.

Then you have Blair Witch, this was done by Human Head Studios who also done RUNE which is available on GOG already
Nocturne and The Blair Witch Project Volume I : Rustin Parr were developed by Terminal Reality.

Human Head studios developed TBWPV II : The Legend of Coffin Rock.
Then another studio developed Part 3.

And yes, there's also a device in Rustin Parr that sounds like the sound you hear on this video that's on the First Post.
Then again, it doesn't sound QUITE the same... So i guess STALKER is the game...
The Stalker games would make excellent additions. SOC is probably my favourite release of the past ten years and even the weakest one (CS) was still well worth it.

jamyskis: All three games are DRM-free on disc and only have disc-based copy protection (although one of them - Clear Sky if I recall - uses Starforce in certain regions). Also, Clear Sky at Gamersgate is DRM-free.
avatar
adamhm: IIRC Starforce was used for the Russian retail versions of all 3 games. As for the UK retail versions at least, Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat both use SecuROM while Clear Sky uses Tages.
My UK retail version of Stalker COP is completely DRM free, not even a disk check.

The other two use only the non activation/ disk check versions of SecuROM and Tages, as clarification. Some don't consider that as being 'proper' DRM.

gooberking: "Classic" is a wildly subjective notion, and I think they may have used it to describe newer games than 2007.
This is true, and I've already had it confirmed in the forums and by GOG directly that enigmatic hints can easily be about newer releases. They had an enigmatic hint for Deponia 3 late last year in the same manner classic games are, so it doesn't need to be classic.

More shooters the better! I'll be glad to see S.T.A.L.K.E.R. here! We need more "newer" shooters, as well as old ones.

Maybe they removed it in a later edition then, but my copy (the "Special Edition" with soundtrack etc, which I bought at release) has a SecuROM disc check.
no clues about the game

I'm just posting to say that "instagogram" is the best thing ever. seriously, say it. don't just read it say it. you can't stop saying it. amazing.

According to Mobygames, Take Two has the publishing rights to Nocturne, so I'd say unlikely, no matter how much I'd like to see Nocturne here. Unless of course they're coming on-board, starting with this game - if we hear of no big announcement about Take Two, then I'd say S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Heh, mine certainly ain't a special edition, it doesn't even have a printed manual. But it is definitely drm free. I don't think it's a budget version as I bought it something like April 2010, so not long after release.
Hmm, there's no sight of STALKER, whats up with that?

Err...

if you look closely on the picture, you'll notice it's actually black and white -> the sky is grey -> there's a chance it will rain -> Lucas arts confirmed!
fuck stalker, i want nocturne! >:O

My guess is it's a Thursday release, if it truly is STALKER. In the past their enigmatic hints reflect a Thursday release more than a Tuesday release, so it's a possibility.
This is a screenshot from the movie "Stalker" by Tarkowski. It's from the same scene as the "instagogram" clip.
