tejozaszaszas: We´ll see, superhero movies (with exceptions) use to be not very good. Even now I remember Daredevil, Elektra, Punisher, Catwoman and the Hulk ones... Ah, bad memories flowing :-(.
I found the last hulk movie to actually be entertaining. It followed a bad movie but the sequel had very good moments and was much more actiony than the first.
Any australians here saw it already
?

Saw it like an hour ago. Was very good movie. Not enough thor and his friends against frost giants but rest of the movie was sold like a rock.

Do recommend it and it ties to Iron Man 2 as well as upcoming avengers movie as well as Captain America (not sure how it ties to Hulk tough. Couldn't see any references to Hulk movie)

That might be because Ed Norton is not coming back as Bruce Banner/Hulk, he's now being played by Mark Ruffalo.

Lou Ferrigno is the only real Hulk.

that might be true but the movie is still a sequel to hulk... therefore part of continuity.

And he's back voicing Hulk in The Avengers.

Yeah but you know how Hollywood is, they treat movie watchers like children and probably thought even mentioning Hulk would just confuse people.

How many people walked out after face-palming themselves and yelling "There are no black Gods in Norse Mythology!".
That was this movie right?

Let's not start that argument again. They aren't actual Gods.

None. Makes sense in context of who those gods are.

turtleblizzard: Plus that trailer didn't scream Thor to me in other ways either. Thor is a big bulky super strong god, not a nimble ninja although in some parts of the trailer he looks like one

KalarMacBran: Acting ability aside. This is why I thought TripleH from the WWE would have made a great Thor appearance wise.
Why the HELL would someone from that farce be given a real job? You can tell their "blows" are fake from the back of the arena. TERRIBLE "acting" all around in WWE...and any other school of American "wrestling" you can name.
PATHETIC!
Christ, it'd be like given Jim Carrey the role of MacBeth.!
Just got back from watching this, and boy, did I enjoy it. Then again, I used to be a comics fan boy, so I'm pretty much there for all the marvel comics movies.

This is not the kind of film you'd think Kenneth Brannagh would do, but he did a wonderful job on it. Sometimes the costumes felt corny and out of place and maybe too flashy and comic booky (I can't help shake the feeling it's all plastic) but since Asgard is supposed to be this otherwordly place, hey, who are we to judge their fashion sense?

I actually liked the movie had a bit of everything, with superheroe-y action, humor (I laughed more than I expected), bit of romance, self discovery, more action... in fact, the usual superhero blockbustery material. So many things were so spot on with the comic book material and it was just at the end that I read J. Michael Strazinski wrote the script and he happens to have written the comic book as well, so it was in good hands.
Why is every country except the one that invented the characters getting to see this movie first?

Good to hear it's a good movie though. Marvel's been doing all right with its movies so far, except for the terrible Iron Man 2.

I know, right? Kenneth Branagh AND JMS? Works quite well, I think.

BTW, JMS made a cameo in the movie.

I'm sorry, but IM2 was far, far, FAR superior to the travesty that was "Green Hornet". Bruce Lee is NOT amused, and he's been dead for years. Rogen totally ruined that farce of a film....
Yeah but...Green Hornet isn't Marvel.
