I like that they're using the American Revolutionary War as a setting. It's an interesting time period that doesn't get covered enough in gaming. They can fudge the urban setting if need be, or do something more open (Recently I read a book on the ranger units during the French and Indian War which would be a great basis for an AC game and that war was not too much earlier than the ARW). Either way I can't see how the setting would ruin the game.
Check the cover art. So is the main character a fashion challenged native american? That would explain the tomahawk and bow but the suit looks silly in this setting.

Edit: Is he gonna scalp the poor British soldier? :O

Considering he's murdering a Brit in that, I'm guessing he's on the American side and it's going to be all "AMERICAAA F*CK YEAH" If it's another game soaked in shitty American patriotism then I guess I'll be stopping the series on Revelations.

The "Amercia" of the revolution was a lot different than the US is now. So if they stay historical accurate, it might be quite interesting. And after 4 games making the enemy christians, I think we can be sure that they won't do a Chuck Norris spinoff now. Especially if the main char is a native American he might have some problems helping the colonists.

Considering the lore of AC siding with the US makes a lot more sense, as the Assassins are always fighting against a superior power. First the catholic church and now the British Empire.

Edit: Oh, and if it makes you feel any better, you're probably gonna murder plenty of german mercenarys ;-)

more likely they'll be neutral killing generals on both sides
It could be interesting. I mean, the American side had to practice guerrilla warfare, and so far the games have been about crawling up buildings and blending in. Combat in the forests, taking out red-coats occupying New York and Boston. The game has to evolve eventually after all, and just because two of Desmond's Ancestors were heads of the Assassin Organization doesn't mean that all of them have to be perfect killing machines of stealth. This one would bring 50AIM-HKG9D-P8RIY (redeemed) a bigger focus to deliberate combat, and prepare for a world that focuses on black powder and guns as opposed to melee and archers. But yes, there are more interesting venues if all you really care for is the old style of assassination. But recall that so far this is only a rumor. And Ubisoft has done well with the series so far, minus the rehashing of Revelations. So, give them a chance if they do go that route, and keep in mind that the ad may be false.

I know how he is. But he is being somewhat reasonable here. For that reason I figured I'd try talking to him.

Nah I like the Germans... I like some Americans too and it could be interesting IF they handle it properly but, given, that they've ignored their feedback when they asked people to vote for the next Creed setting and how stupid that cover looks, I'm worried.

I'm guessing that Washington gets given the piece of Eden from his loyal pet dog Mr native American assassin dude & that allows him to win the war.
Be far more interesting (& unlikely) if you're working with & against both sides to meet your own ends, swapping here and there to get your own tasks done... that'd make for a great game & Washington somehow double crossing you towards the end, hence ending up with the apple.

Steam code fella.

Anyway, I wonder if he'll actually be involved with Washington as an ally. After all, Freemasons come up quite a bit in the previous games, of which the founding fathers are almost all suspect of. And that sounds more like templar territory than assassin territory.

I already own it so what is it? :P

Azarr: Oh, it's hardly the worst choice. They definitely could have chosen something better, but it's not one of the worst. How about waiting for just a bit more information?

Not that I'm exactly optimistic, but they might be able to pull it off.

Oh, the irony ...

Roman5: Ubisoft could have went with anything

French revolution
Victorian England
Russia

Hell, anything, but no - we get one of the worst settings for an AC game

Sigh...

actually it was both but then my judgement is baseless despite all your anti game posts.. but then you never actually post your own views it's always a link to an article...
