Whitecroc: The first Mass Effect was basically a summer blockbuster sci-fi action movie. Well directed, but without anything interesting story-wise. Well, aside from the choice on Virmire. Best scene in the series.

Mass Effect 2 went more along the route of a TV series where the overall story arc takes up only a relatively small fraction of screen time to allow for world building and character development of a large, diverse cast.

Mass Effect 3 would be a mini-series, I suppose, where most of the world building is done second-hand by way of overheard conversations on the Citadel, with actual on-screen action focusing on the overall story and weaving in established characters where it makes sense.

I was just going to write that first paragraph, but the metaphor sort of ran off on its own.
Saren was a pretty well done villain though, that's mainly why the plot of ME1 was good imo. I personally liked the character focus of 2 (and the gameplay was considerably less clunky), but it seemed to get on a lot of people's nerves. Actually, I generally liked 2 more than 1, but maybe it was because I never really thought of them as RPGs.

I disagree Saren was barely there most of the time.

He appeared at the beginning of the game, than reappears very late so I rarely see him and the fact that he kills himself in my paragon walkthrough because appearently he was only a pawn.

Neobr10: No, they're not. I thought he would just make a review or something. But then, BANG spoilers IN YOUR FACE.

Thank you elmofongo for the spoilers without warning. What an asshole.

StingingVelvet: No. No, no, no.

If you click on a game thread months after the game came out, with the word finished in the title, then you HAVE to expect spoilers. This is not a difficult concept.
And this is why we need spoiler tags in the forum: because people will get pissed off because they did something wrong and then accuse others of it.

Neobr, I've avoided several topics with the name of a game in the title. I have no way to know for certain, but I seriously doubt I have ever missed anything earth-shatteringly awesome. Spoilers, almost definitely. Another curious thing is how I can stop reading mid-sentence and hit "back" on the browser when I feel I'm reading something that's leading to a spoiler.

To keep off-topic, grammar and punctuation. Elmofongo's to be specific. I've been meaning to bring this up before but have somehow forgotten, but here goes anyway: you've improved a lot over the past few month or so, and it really makes a big difference. Good job, mate.

And finally to Mass Effect. I've only played the first two and I will probably never play the third. ME1 was flawed, I admit, but ME2 improved nothing, altered a few good features and removed the rest. For instance, it has the worst user interface I have ever had the misfortune of coming across. Okay, maybe not the worst, but it was nevertheless a massive leap backwards since the PC UI in ME1 had been implemented rather well in my opinion.
I must be one of the few that played only the first Mass Effect... And only the first Dragon Age... :P

That's why he was good though, because he felt he was doing the right thing instead of just being all, "Hur hur. Evil". Of course, I also just have an intrinsic fondness for talking bosses to death.

IronStar: I even might have to throw random insult at Sacrifice because of this. :P

Licurg: DON'T YOU DARE!
In the book of Sacrifice, it says, those who throw random insults at Sacrifice will invoke the wrath of Licurg.

Really? That's cool, I guess. For me, the worst part of ME2 was being forced to work for the Illusive Man (especially as an egalitarian Shepard). It was just... weird.

No bad-mouthing Mass Effect (you can say whatever you want for ending), Wipeout and FF VII in front of me than :P
I actually had a blast with all three of these games. I played 3 a while after it was released, so perhaps all the negative press it was getting lowered my expectations of it a bit and I was able to enjoy it more, who knows. Either way, the Mass Effect trilogy was, overall, one of the most enjoyable and memorable video game experiences I've had.

This is the most funniest lines I heard from the game:

Garrus Vakarian: "When the Krogan names a Thresher Maw, you know we are in trouble."

Garrus has quite a few fun lines in game.

(Also, no need for most in superlative AFAIK.)
My favourite line from Garrus is the bolded part:

"[Krogan testicle transplants don't] work, but that doesn't stop them from buying. They'll pay up to 10,000 credits each. That's 40,000 for a full set.

[pause]

Somebody's making a killing out there."
What about the two Krogans looking for a fish on the Citadel in ME2?
First: My english is horrible.

so, read most the posts and all. Never played ME. I´m a huge fan of "western" crpg. For example, games like Fallout 1 and 2, P>:Torment, Witcher and Deus:Ex are mine most played (along with Civilization 3, come on GOG, was forced to re-buy at the Steam). Have thousands of hours in that games. But ME looks too much "run-and-shoot" to me, like most games of the last decade, besides being a sci-fi theme and having some rpg. I´d try, but I´m too choosy with games. When i start one, i feel the urge to finish and play it in all possible ways. I really like to explore all game and make it worth each penny. yes, sometimes I´m annoying LOL. so, in the end, ME series worth it or not? Hope i can get good references (dont trust in reviews and so on). Thanks!
