Barry_Woodward: Are the lines crisscrossing our skies contrails or something more sinister? My friend sent me the following documentaries that claim we are being systematically poisoned worldwide.

What In The World Are They Spraying? (1hr 37min 33sec)
Why In The World Are They Spraying? (1hr 12min 55sec)

I have no idea if there is any truth to this, but watch these and tell me what you think.

SimonG: Could you please stop spamming the forums with your pointless conspiracy theories?

Much appreciated...
Seconded. It's getting a bit much.
avatar
TheEnigmaticT: Um. What? I'm curious, do you just believe that anything you read on the internet *may* be true?
avatar
Barry_Woodward: Not necessarily, but I like to keep an open mind. I too was like "Um. What?" when my friend posted these, but I watched them out of curiosity and I don't know what to think.
There is a difference between open-mindedness and stupidity. The "theory" you posted clearly falls into the realm of the latter, for reasons that others already posted.

Licurg: Not the same thing. I told him I think that is not something he should be discussing on the GOG forums. I did not downrep him, or insult him, or otherwise bother him. I made him a suggestion, he decided not to follow, I stopped posting in the thread. It's not the same thing as other members are doing now, downrepping Barry and calling him insane...
I am not saying anything about other people actions and I don't care for them. I stated it before, once you wanted someone to not post his opinions here and now you defended someone when people said him the same (with posts and downvotes).

You seem to not make the difference between what I did and what is happening now. I suggested to Telika that he should not have such a discussion in the forum. I only told him my opinion, without INSULTING him or downvoting him or in any way interferring with the discussion. When he decided not to follow my advice, I just ignored the thread. My point is that people who don't like this thread, instead of ignoring it like I did with Telika's thread, are downvoting the OP and insulting him, instead of just ignoring it.

Crassmaster: I'm going to say we next get a post about a video proving that Chupacabras exist. I mean, he totally doesn't think they do, but his friend does and the video is compelling though completely false...maybe.
Hey man, every once in a while it turns out that a cryptid was actually real all along, and was either a deformed version of an existing species (jackalope) or was in fact a rare new species (giant squid, Hoan Keim turtle). This surely means that all cryptids are totally a real thing, dude, and not mostly hoaxes and myths. We should totally, like, spend billions of dollars looking for them, and stuff.

Licurg: Well I uprepped him, so sue me. He has every right to start this thread. He insulted nobody, he did not break GOG forum TOS, and he bothers nobody. Except for you...
See bolded. And asking Telika to not post his thoughts goes against his "right to start thread", doesn't it? Only you did it in more civilized manner, which can is also probably because Telika's thread is much more reasonable and meaningful than this one.
Honestly, I'm more concerned about car trails.
Sometimes, when it's cold outside, I see those chemicals coming out of cars' exhaust pipes. They're using people's own vehicles to spread their horrors. They've probably put chemicals that are bad for your body into the gasoline. :p

As they say, it's good to keep an open mind - but not so open that your brains fall out.

"An open mind is like a fortress with its gates unbarred and unguarded."

AFnord: Though really, this myth fails right at the start line, for the very same reason as why the water flouridation myth fails:
Why are not people in regions that gets a lot of these chemtrails (or that has flouridated water) any different/less fertile/more stupid/more ill than people who don't?

Barry_Woodward: Courtesy of my friend:

Reuters: Harvard Study Finds Fluoride Lowers IQ - Published in Federal Gov't Journal
You are right about there being a link between excessively high amount of fluoride and the brain not developing normally. Last time I read about it, they had found out that people living in areas where there is was a very high amount of fluoride in the groundwater could suffer some reverse effects, but people living in areas with normal-high amounts (sorry, I don't remember the numbers) showed no signs of adverse effects compared to people living in areas with almost no fluoride in the groundwater.
Note that the fluoride amount in US drinking water was well within what can be considered normal levels for groundwater.
So people who claim that fluoridation is used for mind control ignore all fact that does not fit within the theory that they want to present. One could easily do the same thing by claiming that "eating spinach is bad". You could theoretically get food poisoning from eating spinach (if the spinach is bad in some way). Now if you just present the food poisoning part, and fail to present all the other facts, you can make spinach sound like it is a horrible poison. Oh, and some government subsidies farmers who grow spinach, so obviously the spinach is sold to the general population to poison us, and the government is behind it all!

Fluoridation of water is very real and very dangerous! I first became aware of it, Mandr... er... AFnord, during the physical act of love.
I'd say it would be totally worth it to start a nuclear war over this.
Careful guys, "they" could be watching this thread right now O.O

(I don't know who "they" are but it sounds all scary and ominous like T.T)

OneFiercePuppy: I don't know what you're talking about for the first. Not at all.
How could you, you haven't watched the video that was the basis for this topic. I completely understand not wanting to invest the time, but then how can we have a meaningful dialogue about it?

avatar
OneFiercePuppy: Who are these scientists?
The documentaries conveniently show the name of the scientists as they speak. Do you want me to go back through both films and write down all the names?

avatar
OneFiercePuppy: What are they planning to spray?
Aerosols made of various materials such as sulfate, aluminum or barium.

avatar
OneFiercePuppy: How (what is the mechanism) will this prevent global warming?
Particles released by aircraft, balloons or artillery would block sunlight from reaching the surface of the Earth, creating a global dimming effect. The idea was inspired by observing volcanic eruptions and the effects the sulfuric acid aerosols they inject into the stratosphere have on Earth's climate.

avatar
OneFiercePuppy: Have you adjusted for externalities such as that when considering what's found where?
Have I? No, but then I haven't conducted scientific research on the subject, I merely posted two YouTube videos. You bring up some interesting points.

Whitewraith: If this was true why not just put it in our water supply. it would be a lot quicker and direct.
That would be too easy! We all know the basis of a international conspiracy (Note: 101) that you need to make it unecessarily complex and secret but the reason behind is never revealed at all, maybe not even the co-conspirators know!!!

This is an awesome thread. Shame on the people who downrep the OP because of his opinion. On other hand this forums seriously need more sub-forums so this one wouldn't pop up in a "General Discussion"'s forum. Come one, TET!!! What's stopping you?!

1+ for people with the jokes as well. :P
